The worst clinic I know. The receptionists are rude and they do not listen at all and they tell you

The worst clinic I know. The receptionists are rude and they do not listen at all and they tell you that you are rude to them. My wife had pre-eclampsia and after leaving the hospital must be under the care of a doctor, but at the reception they did not want to register her at all, then they said that they have nothing available and want her to call on Monday and if she is lucky maybe something will be available. My wife must take medication without which she has extremely high blood pressure, headaches and vision problems which can lead to stroke. All documents were sent from the hospital to the clinic, we just needed a prescription for medicine and a medical examination but they did not even want to listen to me.

Unfortunately not all the receptionists at this surgery are willing to be honest and if they make any mistakes, they blame the patient rather than accepting their mistake and apologies. It is wrong and unprofessional and its not the first time this has happened. Extremely disappointed.

Diabolical! One particular doctor has been dealing with my health issues for the past year. Phoned to ask for face to face appointment with her to be told there is not any available so was happy for telephone appointment as the only alternative to be told there isn’t any of them either. She has not appointments available at all. So can no longer speak to her about my issues that she knows all about and would have to start explaining to another doctor all over again which I don’t feel is acceptable. We need to get back to face to face appointments. BP etc can’t be taken over the phone. Absolutely ridiculous.

I have been registered with Shirehampton Group Practice for all of my life and never had a problem getting appointments, treatments or advice. As a medical professional myself I have dealings with many other General Practitioners and can confirm the low ratings are not a realistic representation of the practice opposed to others. People need to manage their own expectations and acknowledge the limitations of the services provided by their GP’s and start taking prophylactic approaches to their health in general. The NHS is over stretched and overwhelmed, please don’t belittle the ones that are trying their best in unprecedented demand.

2 weeks ago I had received a letter calling me to have my covid jab. As I knew these were being done at my local gp I decided to call them to book as It's only a 10 minute walk away. The receptionist who took my call was very rude and moody. She said that they don't have any appointments but she will look for another place to book me in. She stated another place and we arranged a time for 12 on the 12th, I even asked to make sure, "do I need to book anything?" the reply was no I've booked it for you. After waiting in the queue I was called in to sign in where I was told my name was not on the list. The lovely doctor who was talking to me checked online to find I wasn't booked in anywhere. This lady went out of her way to try helping me by calling a colleague at Shirehampton but was unable to find anything out. This is not the first time the Shirehampton group receptionists have messed up! Quite frankly surprised some of the staff still work there. I am so disgusted and may even think about changing surgeries. Unacceptable! 👎🏻
