Stopped here after going flying as a birthday treat from my son at a local aerodrome. The pub was recommended by his instructor and he's quite right this is a great pub with a reasonable price tag. Welcome was warm and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals in a country pub that was well worth the visit.

Went for a Sunday Roast lunch. Very efficient, friendly and attentive staff. Meals and drinks were served very quickly for such a busy place. My only niggle was the serving plates could have been hotter as the meal cooled quite quickly and the roast potatoes were soft and soggy but apart from that the food was very tasty.

It’s a great place for food, drink or having a congenial meet-up with friends. The food is well cooked and a great choice on the menu. The service is excellent at the bar and in the restaurant alike with a good ambience.

Really nice pub and the staff were fantastic. Food was good and not too expensive considering the quality of the food. Would definitely go back, definitely one of the better pubs in the area.

We have been to the Shire Horse many times with our daughter, her family and their amazing assistance dog! However, we were told by a less than helpful manager on Sunday, that the dog was no longer welcome inside. We are all feeling a bit deflated as the Shire Horse has been a favourite place for the family to get together and eat. The food is always good and staff, efficient and normally helpful. Shame we can no longer eat there as a family!
