4/ 5

Functional car wash, did a decent job of dealing with caked on bird droppings (some residue remained understandably). Wheel rims only cleaned on outer surface (does not reach between spokes). Decent price, got a discount and paid £6 for premium wash (with wax). Not that busy on a weekday during the day. Removed radio antenna and folded wing mirrors in as a precaution so cannot comment on this.

  • In Roman times, Newcastle – then called Pons Aelius – was a fort on Hadrian’s Wall, and during the Saxon period, it was known as Monk Chester on account of its many religious houses. The city owes its present name to William the Conqueror who, like Hadrian before him, recognized its strategic importance.
