Clearly presented exhibit on Arctic and Antarctic exploration. Walk back on the left (presumably Northern side) for the Arctic story and back toward the front on the other side for the Antarctic. I was just left wondering since both Cook's and Peary's claims to have reached the North Pole first are disputed, who did reach it first? I'm sure they would have said who if they were British.

Small museum but very interesting with some great pieces in the collection. The guy on the desk really got my son interested, he filled in an activity sheet and really enjoyed himself. If you're interested in the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration...this is a must visit.

Relatively small section of the museum is open to the public. Items on display give an insight into the harsh lives early explorers had to endure during their polar expeditions. A good range of books and souvenirs are available for purchase from the museum shop.

This is a great small museum. It has lots of exhibits and good information to go with this. It covers the Arctic and Antarctic from the earliest of expeditions right bang up to date with today's scientific research. Also interesting on how the Innuits live in those very cold temperatures. A very interesting museum to visit.

Wonderful museum, especially interesting to those who follow the 'heroic age' of polar exploration. Some of the best bits are in the pull out drawers - investigate, and step into history! Brilliant staff, who will provide every assistance.

Not only does it make you aware of other cultures but also of the toughness of the explorers in getting to the coldest places on earth. The diaries are very moving.
