Saughton Rose garden is very properly maintained by Edinburgh council(?). People are also taking care of this garden. Here you can relax in vicinity of rose and other trees. Ample place to seat and relax. Parking is also available. Near by there is skate park and play area for kids. In sunny days you will see lot if people coming to this garden and to Saughton park. This is on main road easy to locate.

The new cafe isn't open yet and there's some uncertainty of an exact date when it will but the staff seemed to think after the summer so if you might want a drink or snack you'll need to bring a picnic. A walk around the beautiful gardens is worth it though and there's plenty of places to stop and have a seat if you want to relax and soak up the Scottish sun. We really enjoyed the garden with the medicinal plants particularly with the signs that told us what ailments they were for.

The place is beautiful and absolutely free, enjoy a large area perfect for relaxing or a free day out with the family, next to a very large play park for when the kids get sick of the flowers.

Definitely worth a visit. The renovations have been carried out sensitively and with attention to detail. The bandstand and surrounding grass garden works very well. The rose garden needs some more attention, but it is a big area. Overall, it is an example of what can be done if imagination and funding are applied. The Bistro is well designed and provides an excellent menu. We used it during the various lockdowns, as well as between them. The outside heaters are a boon in these circumstances.
