2 years ago I found the staff very helpful, she was promoted then last year the guy I saw told me that I would probably get a better deal if I googled on the internet! I learnt more about his foreign exchange student than what the bank had to offer. This year I made an appointment to see a different man, he gave me advise and asked me to make a further appointment to see him about the new account. I turned up for the appointment and was greeted by a new member of staff who said my appointment was with her not the other guy. Then she proceeded to tell me I did not qualify for the accounts the other guy told me we were going to discuss. Not very impressed. Then I went to make a deposit last Saturday and found out they were closed and they did not open on Saturdays anymore. hardy surprising as the service is going down I made my deposit with the Halifax instead.

I have a corporate account with Santander and decided to open a personal account. a couple of month

1/ 5

I have a corporate account with Santander and decided to open a personal account. a couple of month before this my wife applied and the manager managed to check address and other details needed through electoral system and account was open in stated of 45min. My story tho is different. Had to go twice to book appointment. Then on my appointment they couldn't find my time slot and asked me to come back one hour later which I did. The manager working with me asked documents for proof of address and ... I brought a letter from Santander corporate which they didn't accept since it was from Santander! Long story short couldn't finish on that date and asked me to bring another proof of address next day. I mentioned Electoral vote database he only nodded. He then went through application with me and told me I have to wait for a team to get back to him. After two days he called me and said application has been rejected due to uncertainty on address! and asked if I want to have a fresh application which I said no to. Can anyone make sense of this?
