Stayed here in September 2020 for 3 nights. Outstanding food, unbelievably tasty - comparable to proper fine dining quality at a Michelin star London restaurant - and great value for money. The bedroom was beautiful, looking out to the hills, and very tastefully done. Located in the centre of Peak District, this lovely gem of an inn was an absolute treat and we will be returning again next year !! Thank you to the lovely staff and the owners for making this one of the best trips we’ve had.

This refurbished gastro pub is well worth a visit. The food is spectacular and adding an overnight stay allows you to balance the wines with food. The setting in the Peak District adds an extra dimension to encourage a walk in beautiful countryside either before, to build your appetite, or the following morning to blow the cobwebs away. I can recommend this Inn.

Went for an early dinner - really friendly service! Incredible food - well worth a visit if you are staying anywhere nearby. Really enjoyed the fact that there were several vegetarian options for each course that I could choose from (which is a bit of a rarity sometimes).

Awesome. Incredible food with novel ideas (pickled blackberry?!) in a very informal and relaxed setting (I was wearing a jacket and tie, with other diners in polo shirts and shorts and none of us looked out of place!). Great value too - especially the tasting menus. We had 5 courses and came away filled but not stuffed, and each one had something different to the others so held our interest the whole way through. The wine menu was well stocked but not overly so, and seems reasonably priced. Would heartily recommend.

Friends had recommended this restaurant to us and we weren’t disappointed. The food was wonderful and much better than you might expect in an “Inn”. The staff were very pleasant and seemed very knowledgeable about the food being served and if they didn’t know the answer they would go & find out for you. Thank you for the recommendation for the Sticky Toffee Pudding, best ever, only problem was my husband didn’t just try it he ate about half of it. Will be back soon.

Terrible experience. Got confirmation from the restaurant 2 weeks advance that they can do a proper vegan set menu. It ended up being an afterthought especially when you compare to the vegetarian set menu. For example they could have made the gnocchi and risotto vegan but made no effort whatsoever to do so. Instead I just got a few pieces of veg. For the 2 dessert courses I just got back to back sorbet. Was left hungry after the meal. When informing the waiter, he agreed with my comments but made no effort to resolve the issue. Safe to say I won't be back. Never had this kind of issue with any other fine dining establishment. Edit: Since posting my honest review of my experience, the restaurant tried to bribe me into taking down my review (see pic). I wonder how many people they've tried this with...

Good food but the ambience was not up to the same quality. The welcome was non existent and the service poor. Tired decor and surroundings like a cross between a trendy pub and my granny’s front room. We were looking forward to a good dining experience but sadly we left feeling as though no one would care that we were very disappointed.

This is a hidden gem, offering creative, delicious cooking with great ingredients. It is in a local inn which is on the edge of the village so could easily be overlooked. The three course fixed price summer menu had a range of lovely dishes and was supplemented by several ‘specials’ so there was plenty of choice. Service was friendly and efficient. Will definitely go back
