3/ 5

SAE Liverpool was originally on the dock front, where the studio rooms were considerably better equipped. The intake of student increased considerably and to accommodate the extra students this next building was set up in place of the original. The studio rooms are built around aesthetic appeal as opposed to sound and functionality and many of the studio production techniques are for outdated recording styles. It's worth noting that if you are seeking a career in the audio industry however, that the techniques learned here will certainly help in all aspects of recording. Unfortunately, while the course did teach me a lot, employers no longer look favorably on an SAE qualification. I qualified with a first class degree and have yet to find work in the industry. Couldn't fault the staff there as they are helpful and friendly. Sadly, the cost of the qualification has also increased. When I signed up in 2013 the course fees were roughly £6000 with a free Apple Macbook included, the course costs have shot up since then so I would argue this is no longer an attractive arrangement. Graduation takes places in London as opposed to Liverpool, which may price some out of attending their own ceremony.

Amazing institue for Professionals The lectures, teachers and staffs are very professional, friendly and keen to help you. The Directors are very humble and organized. Unlike John mores university here in SAE I can feel I am accepted as a student not just for filling the chair SAE is Highly recommended and you regret if you are not studying here.

Do not apply to SAE Institute; especially Games Arts & Animation!! Everything I've learnt so far when it comes to game design, texturing, idea generation, animation, rendering, lighting and cameras have all been self taught as the tutors lack fundamental teaching basics. The tutors would much rather blow smoke up your rear, argue with you and refuse to help you instead of providing even a satisfactory level of education. I would've dropped out by now if it wasn't my final year here and I regret not dropping out sooner. I've gone to the staff with many complaints with my own personal complaints, as well as many other of my classmates sharing the same issues, and they'd rather discipline me than even attempt to sort out any issues we've brought up. We were told we'd have state of the art equipment at SAE, but we don't even have up to date software, let alone machines that can fit our needs, but my main issue is how inept the tutor is. The tutor we have in the first trimester is okay at teaching, and will provide an okay explanation, but any sort of issue you bring up, he'll either laugh or lie to you about sorting it. The tutor from the second trimester on the other hand will be your main tutor, and I've never had a worse experience with a tutor than this man... He. Cannot. Teach. In. The. Slightest... Every method he has taught me under his breath is outdated, every issue I brought up resolved in me getting frustrated since he'll insist it's my fault, argue with me and then delete work instead of helping or trying to understand my issue, he has no control over the class, he has no respect, he gives off the vibe he doesn't give a single damn about anything but his pay check. So why don't I bring these issues up with staff? I have, I've brought up various complaints, and the last time I did, I told them my issues and told them I see no success from staying on. Their response? Yeah, but disciplinary. Nothing else after that. They told me they'd look into it and that I'd have a meeting with them, but it was pushed back for three months before they just asked me how I was getting on with my work and ended the meeting... Please... If you, your friend or your family member are considering going into this industry, turn your back on this place and look somewhere else... I regret not doing that at the first sign of trouble...
