Si tratta di una prestigiosa biblioteca con ricche collezioni attinenti all’antichità classica. N

Si tratta di una prestigiosa biblioteca con ricche collezioni attinenti all’antichità classica. Nella sezione di papirologia sono custoditi gran parte dei papiri di Ossirinco che, scoperti alla fine dell’Ottocento dai due grandi archeologi oxoniensi Grenfell e Hunt, hanno rivelato e continuano a rivelarci preziosissimi pezzetti di letteratura greca altrimenti ignota. La biblioteca è celebre tra gli studiosi per essere perfettamente circolare, dunque è molto facile perdersi all’interno!!
