This beautiful theatre was one of the last stops on our guided tour around the city. Since it was pretty cold outside we decided to book tickets for the show of that afternoon. We had beautiful seats all most on the stage. The actors are really good and have beautiful voices. The show was really nice and easy to follow even tho we are from the Netherlands and English is not our first language

For those who don't know it, the Royal Exchange Theatre is a theatre-in-the-round, literally in the middle of the old trading hall in Central Manchester. It's an elegant building and an imaginative re-purposing. The theatre itself shows an eclectic mix of productions, from Shakespeare to Sondheim. Today it was a lively production of 'Gypsy' - OK, Sondheim only did the lyrics but it still counts. Rita Jones superb as Rose, Melissa James as Louise ('Gypsy'). Still time to see it!

Went to a captioned event, really well presented. Seats comfortable, at stage level where we sat, access good, staff helpful and prices for food and drinks standard theatre prices. Would recommend it. Parking in central Manchester is difficult so recommend getting the bus, team or train in of possible.

A great night out was had by the all of the group I visited with. The theater is in the round with excellent views from all of the seats, even where we were say in the gods. The rotating stage means that you get different views of the plays performed. The bars situated in the complex provide refreshments at the interval and at the end should you desire.

Fantasic little theatre in the round. Makes for an intimate space for drama to occur. Was thrilled to be here after many years since I was a student in Manchester. Performance of Gypsy was utterly superb - it felt fresh and innovative. Can't wait to find another opportunity to revisit.
