It was expensive and the room was too small and not what we expected

DISAPPOINTING WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE. Me and my boyfriend was looking online for a nice hotel to stay in for a long weekend (Friday to Sunday). Saw this hotel the price online was £104 a night so £208 for both. First of all When we arrived and looked for the hotel’s parking there was none to be found my boyfriend went in to ask and got given a pice of paper with a qr code on and a deal. However we did not know that we had to download an app to get this deal so I paid with my card. Then when we parked up and actually looked at the paper we then realised we had to get the app. So me and my boyfriend got out of the car to go to the hotel but there was a guy that was on duty and asked him and he said you have to drive back around and scan the code on the app so my boyfriend did that. When we got to the hotel the staff member was very kind, then however everything changed when we went to find our room instead of walking up the stairs which we thought where our room was going to be it was down these stairs into the lobby. Our room was located opposite the lift so every time someone used the lift we could hear it opening and closing. First of the room was small to small for two grown adults in their 20s then there’s the “seafront view”. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT the only view we had is of what seemed to be an ally way our window faced a door which was in this hall way thing. The radiator paint was chipped the bed was so uncomfortable we thought it was two singles put together the mattress was a dark brownie orange colour the walls where chipped the rail to hold in the bath was all rusty only got given small towels. The pictures in the room I found them very offensive to a female.. The walls are so thin you can hear what other people are saying in the rooms next door and in the hall way out side. At the end of the holiday it charged me £29.90 for 2 days. We made up for it by doing other things in the day in Brighton and the night club pryizm. SEE PHOTOS ATTACHED

Lovely location of the hotel but a bit run down in some places which would be better off with some refurbishing to make it better. Fantastic views from the seafacing rooms and very friendly and helpful staff at the reception and housekeeping. Good and clean bathrooms and large room size. Small sized TV for such large rooms. Restaurant served great food at very reasonable prices. Room prices varied according to the season and weekends. Got a great deal most of the time.

Horrendous experience. Shifted rooms twice as the conditions of the 2 previous rooms were deplorable, the first was in the basement which I wouldn't recommend to anyone. My partner and I were lumped downstairs with the rest of the younger generation, as my assumption was that the younger guests were plotted together. While I understand it was a Friday night and folks like to drink. People were bounding up the stairs, drunk at all hours, to which our room was situation opposite the stairs. Furthermore, the rooms downstairs do have windows but only open into a defunct corridor preventing any breeze or fresh air, thus the room was very dusty and completely unhygienic as ours couldn't be opened. The second room which was located on the first floor wasn't much better. The air conditioning units for the hotel were located just outside of the single glazed window and made sleep next impossible. There was also a problem with damp with the door from the room to the bathroom. However, we asked for extra pillows and another duvet ( for those who don't like firm, springy beds) and the staff we lovely and fairly helpful. We were admittedly late with checkout due to lack of sleep and changing rooms for the final time after midnight (which took over an hour and a half after an apparent 30 minute wait or so we were told). The late checkout fee was wavered and the gentleman was very understanding the next day so I can't fault the staff but the hotel direly needs some TLC and a little re-modernisation in places. The price for the stay wasn't satisfactory but the location was amazing, literally just of the peer and next to the city centre.

I just returned from a short stay in The Royal Albion Hotel in Brighton. I did read the reviews before I went so was prepared for the worst. Whilst the place is in need of a complete refurb my main complaint was with the cleanliness. It's shabby to say the least & may be considered a budget holiday, but that's no excuse for it not to be clean. Overall the staff do their best, but not so sure that goes for the house keeping. Pity, as it's a good central location, but cannot recommend

Dirty room, toilets were moving. Bath in front of nowhere. Outside the room, globally everything is actually extremely dirty (even seen a table with, on the glass, written "clean me") The breakfast is more than poor. Just some stuff, industrial pastries and quality is not great. For drink, you'll have to please yourself with coffee or juices. You don't like coffee ? Not their problem. Early checkout and £15 per hour for late checkout, like what ?? Brighton is amazing. This hotel is not.

The royal albion was very dated and had I would say a ghostly atmosphere. Its meant to be haunted by Harry Preston. The food though was satisfactory. The drilling kept me awake all night though got no sleep. The hotel very old fashioned and dirty.

This isn't a luxurious experience by any stretch of the imagination, but neither is the price (with one caveat). I needed a room at short notice, tried booking online and the price was something like £150 without breakfast, for a double room. Seemed a little steep, and I was already within walking distance, so I figured I'd just show up without a reservation and see what price they'd give me....£35!!! Now, at £35 for a last-minute room, which was clean & reasonably comfortable, I'm a happy guy. At £150 I'd have been somewhat less happy!

Hotel with a nice lobby and lounge with great views in a convenient location. The room was filthy (fried chicken skins and mud on tables and floors) and had peeling paint and discolored walls. I had mixed experiences with the staff so I suppose it depends on who you get that day. Constant noise from the road and nightclub goers made it hard to sleep even at 4am. I did have a nice view out my window but the window itself was so dirty it was hard to enjoy.

Well, let’s start with the positive point, the staff is very friendly. However, the food at breakfast was truly awful, and the rooms are rustic at best. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for a clean, effortless stay… actually quite overpriced for the standard

2/ 5

Absolutely huge hotel, we were in a basement room which is where I think they stick you if you book with a dog, the room wasn't amazingly clean with hairs found on the bed and the room smelt of cigar smoke or something akin to it we had a view of 2 walls 6ft away from the windows. This place or this room needs updating dramatically the furnishings were tatty and worn. The only reason I have given 2 stars was firstly the room size, it was huge, secondly because with dog tax, the room was £60 and in the middle of Brighton.
