If you love jazz - genuine, current, high quality, cookin', proper jazz then this is THE place in Brighton. Upstairs is the cafe where you can get hearty food and drink if you're going to see a gig, or just stopping by. Downstairs you'll find a warm, classic jazz club atmosphere and great music, played by some of the country's top players. This place truly rivals some of the London clubs, 5* is not enough.

Upstairs is quite nice but the venue downstairs was way too small for the audience and the stage was too small for a 5+ piece band but i think that's down to the event organiser. I'm sure it's perfect for what it's designed for - smaller, intimate gigs.
