I (Mark) saw Jackie at Pro Thai for repeat visit today. I loved the relaxing ambience of the room and Jackie is an excellent masseuse (though I'm sure all of the staff are very skilled). She was very attuned to the client and made sure I was happy with the pressure, etc. On my first visit I could only stay for 1/2 hour - which was good, but staying for an hour of aroma therapy today was magic. I thoroughly recommend Pro Thais to anyone looking for a professional, relaxing and therapeutic massage at a very reasonable price.

Extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable experience! My first visit a year ago earned this business 5 stars... my visit today is lucky to earn 1 star (original review attached for reference). Perhaps the most disappointing part is that the massage itself was very relaxing. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was anything but! The online booking system isn't kept up-to-date meaning that I selected an "available" time and then paid in full ($135) only to receive a phone call minutes later advising that the timeslot I had reserved wasn't available. I paid for 90 min, however was told that they could only fit me in for 60 mins at a different time (Totally fine, as the request was last minute!) I was then told that they would keep the remaining $ in store credit. Knowing I was unlikely to use a credit later I asked for a refund and after some back and forth was informed that I had to come into the store in person to receive it. Before I could confirm the 60 min massage the receptionist had hung up on the call and when I tried to call back immediately, the phone rang several times and was then disconnected. When I arrived I received my $135 refund and paid an additional $95 to cover the 60 min massage. Fast forward to the end of my massage... without being asked how my massage was, if I wanted a water or even asked to take a seat, I was told to wait around until the receptionist finished talking to her boss. When she came back she told me that the initial $135 was showing as pending and hadn't gone through. I showed her the transaction on my online banking where the money had already been deducted from my account at the time of making the online booking. She insisted that there had been an error and that this "technical problem" had happened before and that the money hadn't been paid. I offered to return at a later time and repay if the $135 did for some reason reappear in my account. She didn't seem happy with this and instead asked me to pay $135 a second time. I explained that the money had already left my account, again showed her the transaction on my phone and told her I wouldn't be paying a second time. She asked to see it and after I handed her my phone, she looked at it for a while, then scrolled through some of my other transactions. I took my phone back from her, was asked what bank I was with and if I could call them right then and there to confirm the money had been paid. As shocked as I was by the unprofessional request, I did so, standing outside the massage parlour on hold to my bank to confirm what I had already been able to show through a transaction on my phone. My bank was able to confirm that both the $135 and the $95 had been processed. Despite this, the receptionist was not ready or willing to accept it and asked me who exactly I had been speaking with to confirm this! At this point I was pretty fed up with the ordeal which had lasted 20 min (without apology!), as I felt I had been more than reasonable in trying to assist with clearing up an issue that had obviously occurred on their end. After informing her that I had found this experience extremely uncomfortable and didn't appreciate her implication that I was being deceitful when I had tried my best to assist, I told her I was leaving. Unfortunately, despite the ladies who work so hard to give good quality massages, I won't be returning to Pro Thais.

Was visiting a friend in Canberra over the Easter holidays & decided to get a remedial massage for my aching body. Called up based on the good reviews & how the place was presented online. Paid for a full body massage for an hr. However, got there & found it did not look anything like the photos. Instead it looked dark & even a little dingy. Even the toilet was outside the building thru a dingy door. When the receptionist showed me the dark room to change, I could hardly see anything with only a small dim table lamp at the end of the plain looking room. I asked if she could turn on the main light just until I change & put away my rings safely, she made an unimpressive sound & said, we do not use that light! So I changed in the dark, hoping I didn't misplace my items. Then as Amy came in to do the massage, I explained that while I still wanted a full body massage, to concentrate on my neck, shoulders & lower back. She was not bad but she simply used the entire 1hr to do my back, totally leaving out the rest of my body (arms/legs/feet/hands - front & back)! As I mentioned this to the receptionist afterwards, she simply said `oh, sorry about that' & did not even offer to refund a portion of the money as I did not actually receive a full body massage! Very disappointed - not relaxing environment, overpaid & did not get the full service!
