Staff is friendly and helpful. Registration appointments can sometimes take a few weeks to obtain availability, but once registered, you can easily book appointments online - quite an efficient system. I find that the consulate is usually pretty busy and there might be a wait of around 30 minutes, but once its your turn, the appointments are quick.

Very helpful staff, my mum and I arrived almost 20 minutes late to our appointment due to sever traffic and they were still able to attend us and we're very understanding. Great service. Thank you :)

I honestly do not understand people giving 4 and 5 start to this service ! I would love to know how you guys even get in touch with someone there ! I have been phoning and sending emails for the past weeks, and NOTHING !!!! No sign of a living soul in that place. Please can anyone give me a bloody number where someone picks the phone up ?? What a shame ! I thought I would sort my problems faster through Manchester than London, but I guess I was wrong. Ridiculous people and service.

The worst possible service I had ever experienced. The staff don't even pay any attention to what I was trying to say. We were slightly late to our appointment and the guy told us to wait for our name to be called out. After waiting for an hour I asked him again that my name is not being called out and others arriving late are being served. The guy replied saying that oh it can take 4 hours long wait. I couldn't understand what is wrong with their bloody heads. I couldn't believe what the guy had just said.

My wife came to take ID cards for me and my two children but the officer (curly hair woman) said that she was only allowed to take the ID cards of my two children and could not take my ID cards even though we were husband and wife living in the same house. What kind of service is that? Is this an established rule or is it just made up?

Once you finally reach a person they are kind and helpful. The main issue is they are nearly impossible to reach. They have never picked up their phone. They answer emails with some regularity but no urgency. If you don't reach Manchester consulate general try calling London and asking them to get in touch with Manchester. Call every number you find. Prepare to wait on hold for a long time.

Can't understand why they give a phone number to contact the blooming embassy, just to fob you off with a recording. I just want to make an appointment to renew a passport and it's like banging your head on a wall. I was in Manchester the other day and thought that I could make the appointment while I was there (makes sense to me.) No, the security guard at the door sends you home to look on endless Internet information useless to me in this case. If they don't want to answer the phone they should make it easy on line. Just a simple page for bookings. When I did my first passport they where still answering the phone? It just goes from bad to worse.

The staff are quite nice and helpful. Now the services themselves are extremely bad, they unfortunately reflect an image of Portugal itself. To book something online it's very difficult. And when you luckily manage to book, the next available appointment can be 6 months later (if you lost your ID card or passport, good luck). The systems, when you're there to do whatever you need, are always going down and the lunch break is taken at the same time by all staff, so if you go there when you're on your lunch break, forget it. The reason is not 0 star is only because the staff is friendly.

Central location, stayed at the Ibis next door. Once you finally get an appointment, everything is great and efficient. My appointment lasted a total of 15 minutes. Started right on time too. Staff was extremely helpful and kind. My best experience at a Portuguese embassy/consulate. Website is a nightmare and so is trying to can an appointment in the first place.
