Excellent place to visit, especially on a nice day when you can wander around the village. The museum is really well-run, with modern exhibitions, a good shop, nice cafe and friendly, helpful staff. There are accessible toilets and a lift to the cafe on the first floor. I'd particularly recommend the village tours, starting at the museum. The volunteers leading them really know their stuff, and your ticket includes the museum attractions, so you can start off with the tour and then learn more with the film, models and Edwardian Cottage. Altogether, a top day out and a little jewel of a place.

Superb ! Better than expected, well worth a visit- I learned so much. Good interesting film. Lovely helpful staff, also a tearoom up stairs. If you google for a discount voucher you will find a 2 for 1 voucher ..think its on visit Cheshire website. You can park by the museum for free and walk round the pretty village , the museum also give guided walks. There is the Lady Lever art gallery very close which is free and worth a visit. We spent the day exploring this unique village and museums. I believe the village was used for Peaky Blinders.

We have just returned from a weekend in Liverpool. We visited Port Sunlight village before crossing over to Liverpool using the tunnel. On a sunny day it was quite beautiful and we found the Hillsborough memorial garden moving. We visited on a very wet August day with our dog. The houses in the village are beautiful and of many different designs all with lots of green space at the front.

Good wheelchair access to small museum. Excellent short film of the history of Sunlight soap and lord lever. Edwardian house next door can be accessed via a wheelchair ramp. Ask if not in place, a very helpful person manning the house sorted one for us. Great warming story about the wealthy boss looking after his workers in Victorian England where many were previously living in very poor conditions.

I enjoyed a couple of hours at Port Sunlight. This harks back to a completely different time and culture, good to see that all Entrepreneurs were not out to get rich but also spared more than a few thoughts for his employees.

Very interesting piece of social history, especially the walking tour. Museum is good, art gallery has some very fine furniture, ceramics and sculptures, with a few fine paintings amongst the rather ordinary. Would prefer more insight into factory processes hence 4 stars

I'd heard that this was an interesting place and olde world type place, I went and was disappointed.

2/ 5

I'd heard that this was an interesting place and olde world type place, I went and was disappointed. The houses and grounds were kept immaculate, was quaint and very quiet. However, there was no signposts etc to show any places to go like in the reviews and photos etc, that's not to say there wasn't any. There is a park that we noticed on the way out as is a garden centre. We didn't go in the museum so can't say what that was like. Would be nice place to retire.

Great place to spend relaxing time with family. Seating on the provided chairs, enjoying ice-creams and listening to live music was the best time in a while.
