Serafina has always does an excellent job. I've had so many items altered, jeans, skirts, trousers and bridesmaid dresses. Nothing is ever too much to ask! She's also made a couple of dresses for me that I love. A kind, accommodating and talented lady, thanks for everything and I'll definitely be back!!

Serafina made my wedding dress and 3 bridesmaid dresses. She has also done numerous alterations for me including replacing zips in garments and hemming trousers and skirts. She is always very professional and gives helpful advice on what will and will not work. I was delighted with the finished products. I would have no hesitation in taking any alterations or bespoke dress making requests to Serafina. Keep up the good work. Well done!!!

Serafina has a great shop with a good selection of products, always really helpful and attentive to customers needs. I've used her shop on several occasions to help fix dresses, buy different wools and even attended one of her dress making classes- I couldn't recommend the shop more for all of your sewing needs :)

Very accomodating, professional and helpful seamstress with decades of experience. Serafina has done loads of alterations and repairs for me over the years, trousers, hems, skirts, and a very special dress! They were all done professionally and perfectly to my satisfaction. She also shares her lifetime of skills and knowledge in relaxed, friendly and personally tailored sewing classes which I have done a couple of times and learned so much! Thank you!

I bought a beautiful dress and entrusted Serafina at PINS AND NEEDLES, Lochrin Buildings, EDINBURGH with my alterations, and to add my personal touches. She was very friendly and I completely trusted her with my wedding dress. We had a few fittings where I pointed out some things that needed fixing, and again I had faith that Serafina wanted to do a good job for me. How wrong could I have been? I picked up my dress two days before I had to leave for the wedding. Serafina had it all wrapped up and ready to go, not leaving me opportunity to try it on. When I arrived home I immediately wanted to try on the most important dress of my life. And... IT FELL APART. Sefafina hadn't finished my wedding dress. She had only tacked it up in places, the finishes were very messy, the inner hoop, which she insisted on changing, collapsed - meaning I had to hold my dress up when walking down the aisle! There even were still pins in it!! Despite all of this, I don't like to think this was on purpose. I asked my sister and Mum to speak to Serafina at Pins and Needles to find out what happened. She gave us endless excuses, none of which were remotely excusable. Refused to admit fault, and offered only £20 compensation for causing undue distress on my wedding day. Please DON'T TRUST Serafina at Pins and Needles with any tailoring. She couldn't even finish the bridesmaids dresses properly, we had to tie the ends where she had removed beads and not tidied it up!!

The lovely woman at this shop helped me find exactly the fabric, (read: ribbon) needed to make a very wee kilt for a Monkey. “I can’t believe I’m helping make a kilt for a Monkey” she said, to the general delight of all present. Thank you! It turned out quite well, even has pleats!! Highly recommend this shop!

We have had our wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses all altered at pins & needles. The service was sooo good we then got 2 other bridesmaids dresses for both my sister's wedding's done there and a dress alteration. You are made to feel at complete ease and nothing is too much trouble. First class service and first class needle work.

I had my wedding dress alterations and all my bridesmaids dresses altered by Serafina at Pins & Needles and she was brilliant. She was very prompt in turning round the alterations and all of the dresses fitted all of us perfectly - I'd definitely recommend to any other bride or someone looking for ordinary clothing alterations.

Good assortment. Very helpful. Very willing to swap ideas and give advice! Definitely going back!
