I went here when I was on a work trip to Bristol. Reviews online looked good. Went in as a solo diner. Food was quick to come out, but nothing special.

Always an excellent choice for dinner, they're constantly innovating their menu to produce the best version of their pies and sides. With plenty of meal deals, you can get a generous portion of food for under a tenner. One of my top 5 places to eat in Bristol.

Whilst I went for a takeaway I was struck by the restaurant as well. The right mix of rustic and chic. However the real reason to visit is the pies! Probably the best pies I've tasted. Brilliantly crisp crust that isn't too much pastry. Succulent fresh ingredients make up the fillings. The ingredients and seasonings are perfectly blended to give a wonderful taste. Current favourites are Moo or Moo and Blue, but there are plenty of options for everyone, including vegans and vegetarians. Highly recommended.

This place was recommended for gluten free food. The staff/manager were more than helpful, and explained how the food was prepared, even opening fresh produce to minimise cross contamination. 100% will eat here again, when in Bristol. Pies and sides were great, and well priced, however the drinks were more expensive than I expected. Food arrived quickly. Overall I rate this as one of the best places I've eaten, loved it.

Extremely disappointing visit to Stokes Croft Pieminister tonight. Having spent the day singing your praises to my other half and looking forward to your usual high standards I was left feeling like a second rate customer and having to look for somewhere else to eat. There were 2 other tables in tonight when we arrived and we had a table booked for 7pm. From ordering to receiving our drinks it was over a 10 minute wait. And then from ordering to receiving food was over 30 minutes and during this time countless delivery drivers arrived for orders that were received after we had arrived. We watched these orders be inputted into the computer, at least 4 whilst waiting for our drinks alone. When our food did finally arrive parts of our order were missing from both plates and the food was stone cold. Having waited for over half an hour, the least I would expect is that my food was of an acceptable temperature and was edible. On raising this with our waiter and saying we didn’t want to wait any longer for it to be fixed we would just pay for our drinks and leave, we were offered absolutely no apology, the plates were taken away and the drinks bill brought to us immediately. Working in the hospitality sector myself, the least I would offer a customer of mine is for them to not have to pay for their drinks after such disgraceful service. There really is no excuse for the appalling service and quality of food tonight. There were less than 10 people in your restaurant so your staff weren’t exactly rushed off their feet and clearly take away service takes priority over your sit in customers. £12.75 for an inedible meal and 2.5 drinks.

Great food. Service is pretty poor - it took 50 mins after our table was cleared (and multiple trips to the bar!) to get the bill, pay the bill and receive the change. But it did leave me lots of time to write this review. The food is good, but not worth it for the service.
