Phoenix Fish Bar & Chinese Takeaway cardiff

Staffed by two teenagers at 7.50 on a Saturday evening; just two other customers in the shop at the time. I should have had my wits about me. The fish and chips was totally inedible. It was the worst food I’ve ever wasted money on and I’m 55! Looked clean on arrival and like another reviewer I didn’t spot the 1star hygiene rating until we’d already ordered and paid. Do yourself a favour and don’t bother going there.

If I could give zero stars I would. Don't visit this take away often, as the food has always been awful. But when I do visit, I think, ' maybe they have changed now.' Friday night I really fancied bag of chips. I came here and placed an order of chips. I waited about 20 mins and I was the only person there. I thought they must have been cooking them fresh, but as you'll see in photo, they must have been cooked last week! The photo actually does it no justice to show just how bad these chips actually were. Whilst waiting I also noticed a hygiene rating of 1 in the window. I will never come here again, as long as these are in charge. Worst food ever.

I'm happy to say that all the 1 star reviews were all well justified. This is the worst Chinese I have ever had. Had pork fried rice. The pork was fatty and dry and the rice..... Well let's not even go their. The chips were dry and soggy (I didn't think that was possible either lol) and the and the brown water that was ment to be curry sauce just tasted of Chinese 5 spice. Please, please, please avoid this place

Whoever is giving 5 stars must be staff or person with taste buds removed . Ordered fish and chips for three and had tone through until the bin, didn't even give it to the kids to try because of how awful and greasy it was chips looked and tasted as though they had been in the microwave for a week . I honestly would have felt like I was neglecting my child if I had given them the food

We ordered on a friday night which we realise is always a busy period, however we waited half an hour on top the estimated delievery of an hour and a half before contacting the restaurant to find out they had closed without delivering our food. We then contacted Just-Eat who told us the order had been registered as complete but they opened an investigation. The restaurant's reply was that unfortunately their "delivery driver was very busy" and even though they had taken the money for the order, they had not bothered to deliver it or to even get in touch to inform us that we would not be getting our dinner. Thanks to Just-Eat we are getting a refund but we will not trust this restaurant again.

I have been using Phoenix for a number of years but recently its just unedable my complaint fell on deaf ears as they were not bothered I gave them time to rectify this issue but no Dont Waste Your Money

When the Chinese takeaway first started it was great. But over time it has deteriorated. Many times missing items. This time I ordered House Special fried rice. There was no chicken in it. It wasn't nice at all. I won't be ordering from there again.

Worst Chinese ever. Rice tasted like boil in a bag rice. meat was dry. Chips were warmed up and tasted like plastic. There were items missing of the order. This place is seriously awful

Really lovely food and great veggie options since the refurb ! worth giving a try, we get food from them a lot.
