Having had a delicious afternoon tea in the Basingstoke branch i visited the Hove one for coffee and cake. Sat there for more than 10 minutes and was not acknowledged or attended to. Sorry, but i will use another coffee shop. There are plenty of them!!! No wonder the company is struggling.

Far bettered by local Brighton bakeries, the cakes are mass produced and taste like it.

I went in with my girlfriend yesterday and the staff were incredibly rude. 1 member of staff named Marco and two women which were on that day all treated us with contempt. Moreover, we got the prosecco afternoon tea and there was no prosecco, the eclairs were not filled with cream, there was no promised walnut cake slice, and all was presented with a sneer. Horrible staff, poor quality food, and ruin to the usually good reputation of Patesserie Valerie. Serious changes need to be made at this chain.

Only been in once, well my name reason for 3 stars - it’s expensive. The loose leaf tea was the most expensive I’ve bought in tea rooms. I think £3 is quite expensive, in Kemp Town a cafe I like it was very reasonably at £2.20! The cake I had was Black Forest Gateau and it was DELICIOUS. Again not cheap to eat in at £4.10, for a smallish cake. But it was really nice, on my visit staff were friendly and might visit again. I’d give it more stars but I find it an expensive cafe.

This people disgust me! I ordered from uber eats a lot of cakes and all I asked for was a little fork for my 7 year old whom loves these plastic forks for some reason. The food came but not the fork. Moral of the story they couldn't bother put a damn forkm that costs like 2p just because probably it wasn't on the menu so I didn't pay for it. That make sure me wonder why there is a space underneath every order asking to leave a comment/request for the restaurant. And I'm sure they can see it but who cares as long as they get their money right
