Oriental Takeaway brighton

Used to be amazing food and service. Food is still good but service is diabolical. Last few orders have been incorrect, last time I went in there the cashier took about 15 minutes to acknowledge my existence and this time when I called to say they had sent me the wrong food I was told I was a liar! 10 years of custom ends today. Last time I ordered from here the food was delicious, sadly this time I can only assume the chef was off sick and they let the pot washer make the food. All the sauces had the consistency of water and were very bland. This meant that the meat substitutes had taken on no flavour and most closely resembled slices of bathroom sponge in taste and texture, not helped by the fact that the food arrived tepid, despite the fact it only took them 30 minutes to fill our order. To top it off the mock crispy duck was super chewy and dry and the spring rolls are the dirt cheap kind that they buy in in big boxes and contain a floury paste rather than actual vegetables.

Absolutely disappointed about food. Ordered Pad Thai Chow Main and Duck with Rise. Both dishes came with small pieces of duck ( skin of duck ) and Pad Thai the same . Basically 90% of Rice or Pasta 10% Meat. I have use this take away a lot in previous occasions but today it was my last time after poor customer service over the phone as well .

I order the veggie selection for a number of years.. They never disappoint.. Fast fresh and friendly service.. Since I found them I do not order from elsewhere..

We decided to try this Chinese last night, and were extremely disappointed. I ordered the “roast” duck with pineapple which had very few pieces of meat in it, of which were 90% fat. Not only that but the fat and skin were raw and the meat was undercooked. In no way was this “roasted”. All of the food was cold. The chow mein was bland. The satay was dry. Delivery was extremely slow and it was a Tuesday night! We will not be ordering from here. China Star is the best Chinese in Brighton by far - highly recommended. Avoid Oriental, I just wasted a tonne of money on it and will probably get food poisoning.

Victoria that works behind the counter is a star, super helpful, made sure all of our dishes were vegan and answered all questions super competently. All vegetarian dishes are vegan but the rice dishes have egg in them so don’t forget to ask w/ no egg (we didn’t remember but Victoria did). Food is 10/10, my favourite is the veggie crispy duck and the chicken balls :))

First time ordering from here as we have moved to this area recently, food was delivered piping hot… gorgeous food!! will definitely be ordering from here now.. thank you very much!!

I think it depends on who takes the order on the service you receive. Younger generation good to deal with, older generation not so! Food is very good. Do a fantastic quick meal option. Smaller size portion served with rice! Most of the time are flexible with options but again it depends on who takes the order.... If left to the younger, more customer focused generation would be 5* Delivery does take a little longer than normal but it's not normal times....

Best Chinese/chippy ever. Foods amazing never fails with quality and quantity. Prices are to cheap for the portions you get. Me and my family have been going to this chippy years and never fails to impress us. Never go to any other chippy Massive credit to them 👍

Hands down the best Chinese Takeaway in the area. Food is always delicious, cannot fault it, have only ever had really great food from this place.
