I love Oldland Post Office. It's a really quaint, proper old-fashioned Post Office with lots of character. The staff are lovely and will photo-copy things for you. I particularly like the greetings cards, postcards and books about old Bristol. It nearly always seems to be open as well.

I came away thinking I will not go to that post office again, I found the post office staff took delight in telling you after they have charged you how you could of sent it cheaper if it was flatter or smaller. Asking you what is in the parcel for supposedly security reasons, as if you would tell them there is a bomb in it!!!!!!!!! They only need to know the value of the item not actually what is in it!

Usually pleasant staff. However on this occasion the female co owner was sarcastic and rude. I was going to purchase an additional item at the post office counter when I was told that "This is the.....post....office" and to purchase the item in the shop, as if I was some kind of simpleton. Then why display items for sale to do with postage in the post office area if you then have to take them to the shop area to buy on an additional transaction? Never had to do this before there. Bought the item online cheaper.

Lovely to see the post office still going strong during the lock down and keeping customers and staff safe, unlike one shop I could mention which let a customer draw right up level with me at the counter then told me off for asking him to stand back! A suggestion for u - It would be great if you could start stocking gift letter-writing sets - not easy to find locally. My friend jokes that that's because I'm the only person in the world who still writes letters - with a quill pen! πŸ˜‰
