Why have I got to tell the receptionist what is wrong with me? Does this not break the Confidentiality: NHS Code of Practice? I refused, so she put the phone down on me. Twice this has happened. Apparently, it's so she can decide if I'm poorly enough to see the doctor, or I can just go to the chemist. She said that herself. I refused, so she said she wouldn't pass anything on. I emailed the Practice Manager. No reply. Awful.

Takes far too long to get through to make an appointment, sometimes I just give up and hang up and but the times when do eventually get through, I am told I have to wait for a call back, no sit in and wait offered. Not practical when you have to take off time from work. Even to book in advance the staff advice not to bother as the waiting times are 4-6 weeks. It was a much better service as chapeloak practice before moving into this oakwood medical practice. Pharmacies are limited to what they can prescribe and suggest to call your GP.. if only it was that simple.

If you want the service of a doctors surgery don't register with a medical centre. This centre is clearly unable to meet demand and require more receptionists and medical staff. The call queues are horrendous. I was waiting 20 minutes today and they cut off my call saying they are too busy to answer and to try again later. The waiting time to get an appointment is 4-5 weeks so it hardly seems worth registering for anything other than my asthma prescriptions. Which are generally managed well and I almost always get my prescriptions when I need them. The reception staff have always been helpful and the doctors knowledgeable and caring but there are just too many people registered to provide the primary care when you need it. I will be registering with a new doctors surgery.

Called to book in for a blood test, receptionist helpfully booked my appointment. Arrived to the practice to have bloods taken just for the heath care assistant Katie to say "You've come for nothing today" the process is apparently to speak to a doctor first, fair enough but the reception staff should be trained enough to advice patients on this before booking. Katie very rudely showed no remorse when I told her that I'd taken time off work for this appointment. Extremely rude and unprofessional behaviour from this health care assistant who may benefit from taking some training in polite behaviour before conituing her work. Working with the public doesnt just mean getting a title and doing your 9-5, also learn how to treat them with respect! Ridiculous! Never will return to this practice, highly unrecommended!

I recently moved to the catchment area and registered with the Oakwood Lane Practice. I have no complaints with the service I have received. I would like to commend all the staff at the practice for working their absolute hardest to maintain the level of care they do particularly in these unprecedented challenging times. I suspect that there are significant volumes of patients wanting to be seen and sometimes it can be difficult to get through on the phone to make an appointment, which is a sentiment echoed in other review comments. One improvement I would suggest is to affiliate with the Patient Access online portal to enable patients to book a selection of appointments online in order to alleviate the burden on the reception team and provide better all round care.

Before the pandemic this doctors practice was good it has a Community service called practice Health champions that puts on activities like a coffee mornings on Wednesday and as I live on my own I can go there and meet my friends and have a good two hours but not anymore as my disability has changed and I now need to use a Walker and the lift that is supposedly there to help disabled people is constantly not working and when I need to book appointment you can’t get few to speak to somebody and I have been there a few times now and the hand dryer’s in the downstairs toilets have not been working so not very hygienic as no paper towels provided and if you are lucky enough to get an appointment then it’s cancelled at the last minute I think they need to get more staff and get somebody who can repair a lift as it’s not good enough

I had a physiotherapy appointment at 10:30. I arrived in good time with my carer. No one telephoned to advise the lift was out of order. How is anyone supposed to get upstairs when they use walking aids? 9 months of waiting to see a physiotherapist for my appointment to be cancelled. Now have to wait another 3 weeks. I suffer from agoraphobia so this was already a difficult situation for me. Why the physiotherapist couldn’t come downstairs to do my appointment is beyond me! Thanks for making my stressful day worse

Sat in phone queue for over 50 minutes, finally get to first position only for it to continue to ring. I understand that GP practises are under strain but this is the 3rd time out of 5 this has happened. On one occasion I was in the queue for almost 90 minutes. This is unacceptable

I am currently sat waiting for someone to answer the phone. For 80 minutes I've been on hold, from 2 minutes after the phone lines opening. Gor the last 20 minutes I've been listening to it ringing, I was number 6 when I started on hold. Seriously how long does it take to answer 6 calls
