Amazing little find, lived and worked close by for so long and never knew it existed. My little boy loved the walk exploring new places and going through the tunnel that went under the motorway / dual carriageway. Nice little cafe and the gift shop was great some very good prices in there. I didn't see a play area but someone said there is one around there somewhere but we didn't need one he loved running round and playing by the water. Had a great time.

I read the reviews about this place before visiting, and I wasn't disappointed!!! There's so many different walks / routes to try. Some are open, some hilly, some woodland etc. There was a lot of kids paddling in the streams too which was great. Plenty of benches near the visitor centre, but less when you're on the walks. Great place for a picnic as lots of open grassy areas. There's a children's play area too on the walk. Oakwell Hall is worth a visit too....and it was free!! They only reopened on the 17th July too. The rooms are well equipped with historical items, and some video to watch on your way around. It certainly gave a good insight into the way the lived. The one slight downside, is some of the walking routes could be better marked out. There are periodic signs saying "you are here", but that's all. Free parking too, so what have you got to lose!!
