Hotel is great. Short enough walk to many pubs and restaurants. On this occasion, my room had damaged Carpet outside the bathroom and I kept placing my toes on the sharp prongs that normally grip the underside of the carpet.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our 1 night stay at Oaks Metropole hotel. The room was well presented, clean, had everything you might need and perfect location for us as we were heading to the casino that night. The lady that checked us in was very welcoming and friendly. I made mention in the booking notes that this booking was a surprise for my partner (for his birthday) and I asked if we could get a room with a nice view. I want to say a massive thank you to whoever put us in the city view room on the 10th floor, the view was to die for and certainly exceeded our expectations! Overall, we would recommend this hotel to others and will certainly stay here again in the future!

Our stay was good. The room was clean and tidy. Bed very comfy. We spent three nights and then checked out to spend 4 nights on beautiful Magnetic Island. I realised unfortunately, I had inadvertently left clothes hanging in the wardrobe at the Oaks. I phoned them and was told a guy was now in the room for the week. They were busy, would check with housekeeping and would call back in the next couple of days. Got a call back to say they would be at reception to which told them I would be there on Thursday on my return from Magnetic Island. Upon stopping at the Oaks to pick up my clothes, checked the bag and two items missing - a Yarra Trail dress and a waterfall cardigan. I said I am sure that the guy in the room hasn't taken them, must be a staff member to which I was told "we can't take anything". As we were on our way to the airport to return home to Melbourne, I thought maybe there was a second bag?i rang back and asked and was told that there was only 1 bag, however Sharni said she would check again. Hopefully I get a positive call back and my clothes have been found. Very disappointed.

the room we booked was filthy, it was a accessible room which mean we had no shower screen or curtain. Then we found out hours later that there was no hot water, The staff were less than helpful, and would recommend not to stay there. We were booked in for 4 nights, and checked out after one night. We did recieved a refund for 3 nights but no discount for the night we stayed. Totally disgusted.
