My favourite hotel in TSV. Well appointed, clean and maintained professionally. Palmer street location is good for dinner and drinks, small walk back to the city and my office isn't a big deal, unless it's peak summer, but that's anywhere in North QLD.

Upon arrival we paid for our 4 nights accommodation. Then to be told there’s another $250 bond to be paid also which would be returned within 10 business days. This bond was due to Public holiday. No warning. That’s $250 from my spending money. I was not happy. Rooms are generous in size. Bed very comfy. Bathroom and laundry facility good. We had to ask reception for clean towels at day 2. Toaster old. Dangerous. I burnt my finger trying to get muffins out. Needs to be replaced. Sliding door out to balcony from lounge was jammed. Couldn’t open it. Pool was operating, thankfully. Water temp perfect. One umbrella and table available only. Of course same people hogged it. The Hotel is in excellent location. Close to shops and restaurants. Hotel staff friendly and helpful particularly at start of booking with lots changes having to be made. I was very grateful for their patience.

2/ 5

I don't know where to start on this review, we had such high hopes for this place as the photos made it look lovely. We checked in after a late flight with a toddler and were a little shocked at the state of the room, the carpet was lifted (probably from water damage) we couldnt put our toddler on the floor for a play, knobs on the stove where broken off, the hair-dryer was broken, a cupboard in the bathroom/laundry looked like it had been kicked in and our baby cot that we paid $20 a night for was broken. Definitely did not look like the photos sent from our travel agent. We slept in the room that night as it was very late and called reception the next morning to see of we could change rooms. The lady we dealt with the next day was lovely and did everything to accommodate us into a new room. We had to wait till after lunch to be placed in a new room, but we're happy with our room and couldn't wait to relax. Unfortunately maintenance came up 2 to 3 times while we where in our room to fix a toilet roll holder and broken tv so we feel we had no time to unwind and it was a little uncomfortable. I don't think any money is being spent on the maintenance of this hotel, and it has a lot of potential. The pool was beautiful I'm glad we had a chance to use it but we not be returning to this establishment. Might I add I hate leaving bad reviews but it really ruined our one and only holiday away this year.
