Beautiful building, peaceful rolling countryside, great facilities and delicious food. Service is extremely friendly and well-meaning if not very effective (most of the staff seemed inexperienced though all were welcoming). Rooms are very overpriced compared to other hotels at this price point (£300+ a night), especially if you only get a view of the car park. The "Escape to the Country" package (£540) worked out more expensive than if you bought meals and extended check-in separately. The spa is great and has some of the best gym facilities I've seen. I would come back again if the prices were more reasonable.

5/ 5

My rating relates to the fabulous morning coffee I enjoyed here today rather than an overnight stay. I have known of this hotel's existence for years but because the building itself isn't visible from the road (the A25) I had never given it much thought. However, a friend took me here today for coffee this morning and it really was an experience to see it for the first time. The huge building itself is beautiful inside and out - Victorian Gothic, high ceilings, beautiful stone architecture with sympathetically designed furnishings. We had our drinks and 'sweet bites' overlooking the terrace with a view of the gardens and countryside stretching for miles. The service was excellent and the choice varied and very good value for money. An affordable luxurious treat! Now I know that it's there, I will make it a regular haunt!

We went to do an Easter egg hunt and the kids absolutely loves it. I believe it was the first one they have ever had. And boy was it packed with kids and parents ready for egg fun. The car park was filled with customers waiting to park, even the manager had to put a high vis on to direct traffic. A good turn out if you ask me. Big big big 👍🏽

The staff are friendly and the food and drink are good. The prices are also very reasonable considering the location and facilities. The ensure bathroom in the rooms is a little on the small side and did not provide toothpaste, toothbrush but the rest was good.

A nice hotel but at times it was lacking the great customer experience it should be. Our last memory

3/ 5

A nice hotel but at times it was lacking the great customer experience it should be. Our last memory is a poor breakfast experience, asking for toast four times and feeling invisible. A real shame to have an end to a break like that. The hotel just needs to do the little things that matter to customers that leave great lasting memories
