When signing up for a 12-month contract (which included a 2-week cooling off period), I was advised my first 6 weeks membership was fee-free. Nuffield Fountain Park attempted to charge me 1 week later. Luckily my bank blocked the transaction. Nuffield Fountain Park accused my payment of bouncing. I was still within my 2-week cooling off period so I went to cancel my membership straight away. When attempting to cancel my membership, I was met with rudeness and incompetence by staff in both the Reception and Membership team. It was such a hassle to sort this out - I visited Nuffield Fountain Park twice in person, called them once and sent 3 emails. I still haven't received any communications confirming my membership has been cancelled. Very SLOPPY. Nuffield Fountain Park have NO integrity when dealing with members so I would NOT recommend and advise to AVOID.

Nice, clean and well kept gym. Never too busy so can always get on equipment. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Classes are great fun and the trainers are always on hand to answer questions and make you feel welcome. There's a pool, hot tubs, spin studio and all the usual equipment expected at a gym. Never used the cafe but looks like there is always plenty of space (and free water if you forget your bottle)

3/ 5

Great kit and friendly staff, however, it does have some serious issues. It is not the most friendly space to navigate as a woman. The staff who are on the floor are all wrapped up in their personal training sessions with clients, and there is little to no generally approachable staffing on the gym floor, which has knock on implications for how the space feels. This especially true for the weights area where people, usually male, crowd close to the drumbell racks doing their sets which makes it hard to access the weights for ones own exercises. Partly this is down to the layout of the gym floor which seems more focused on aesthetics of the space rather than efficient, effective layout. The lack of staff not actively engaged with a client, and the overwhelmingly masculine feel of the weights area also makes it difficult to get a spot for bench presses when one is trying to up one's working weight. The kit, like most gyms to be fair, is proportioned around male bodies in everything from the height of the benches from the floor, to adjustment options on the machine weights seating, supports and event the height off of the ground of the handle on the lat pulldown machine. The lighting on the gym floor also feels quite dim, especially when compared to the Omni Centre facilities, and even to the hallway and changing rooms in the same facilities.

All the negative reviews of the cleanliness of the building are strange to me as whenever I am there there are always cleaners in the girls changing rooms, and it is always immaculate. The staff are friendly, the facilities are unmatched. All these people complaining about the hot tubs/spa pools being shut? There are huge posters everywhere saying they're shut and saying when they will be open again! The cancellation policy is a little tight, but they made it extremely clear to me when I joined about the extra months payment. Great gym, great people.

Would’ve given 4.5* stars, but not an option. Lovely facility that needs minor upgrades in part hence the lack of 5*. Reception team always have a warm welcome (rare in many clubs I attend), and Daniel in the PT team is an outstanding trainer. Can’t recommend him enough. Big, well equipped gym, great range of classes and nice pool that should be avoided at weekends. Turns into a bit of a crèche. 4 hour parking a huge bonus…
