Discrimination against elderly and vue

1.0/ 5

My mum aged 73 was denied access to healthcare because of the prejudices of their A and E staff members. They wouldn’t let me accompany my mum even though she suffers from ANXIETY disorders, she had had a QUADRUPLE BYPASS surgery some years back and was having heart palpitations and her blood pressure was measuring around 180 – 90, they separated us, I had to leave her own her own with her poor English and anxiety problems – she suffered an anxiety attack and left the A and E room after 5 minutes to find me. I called NHS for help and guidance about her high blood pressure, as I didn’t know what to do at this stage. A doctor named Hasan called back, told me to go back and tell them about the urgency of my 73 year old mother’s condition and that they would have to let me in. BUT as you can guess, they didn’t, in fact, when I said that a doctor named Hasan had told me that they had to let me go in and help my mum, they MOCKED me by saying that there were many Hasans in the building and they didn’t care what nhs 111 advice was, as North Middlesex Hospital was not related to them. I then askef for the name of the staff member who was talking to me and my mother, she said that she did not have to give me her name. I called nhs 111 to ask for advice, as I got even more concerned about my mother being denied health care, they told me that she had to tell me her name. I went back in and asked her, she ignored me, then I asked her colleague what her name was, she said that, she could only give me a complaint form. I believe that DISCRIMINATION took place because the staff was taking advantage of their superior authority to belittle people from disadvantaged backgrounds. In this modern age, such discriminations are shocking and disappointing, I am very sad for being let down in such horrible manner by my local hospital. I hope that justice could be served and that woman could be identified and sacked. I sincerely hope that none of your old relatives would have to deal with these pathetic, disgusting people. I wish anyone with elderly relatives good luck! I hope together with all our hardwork, paying our taxes to keep NHS going, we can rid the system of these vicious people.

An absolute disgrace of an A&E department. My GP referred me due to suspected Tachycardia (serious if untreated) due to fatigue and shortness of breath after minimal excursion. My GP informed me I should have visited him sooner, so I was quite emotional and worried. The triage nurse was abrasive and rude to begin with when running through my symptoms. I understand there are a lot of silly people who visit A&E for ridiculous reasons, and that in turn thins a nurses patience, but my situation wasn’t in that minor category. I eventually had a blood test and ECG by yet another rude nurse who didn’t even say hello or make any sort of conversation. Again, I’m not asking to be read a bedtime story by every medical professional within the building, but the lack of care is shocking. Finally I was told I would have to wait 5 hours for my results and if I wanted to leave, that was up to me. Without a doubt, the longest A&E wait time I’ve come across within London. You can’t even blame it on being underfunded or understaffed, there are other A&E’s within the area who do a great job and seem to have less staff running around. I eventually left at around 1.30am with no hope of seeing a doctor. Hopefully I can get hold of my results but judging by other reviews, they will probably be mislaid.

A+E is always busy and yes you have to wait. Doesn't help that they closed Chase Farm A+E. That said the staff are friendly and competent albeit under pressure. It would also help if people didn't turn up for stupid things that the GP could sort out!

Absolutely incredibly poor service. They send appointments stating it cost £150 if you don't attend. Then send countless reminders (at a cost) and when you take time off work to attend, they say "meant to send a cancellation last week but thought I'd wait for you to scome and tell you". CRAZY

I would not recommend NMUH if you have mental issues, it’s like patients mind doesn’t matter in there. I have managed to live without medication for almost 40 years but 3 days in this hospital broke me!!! Didn’t get my treatment neither. Consider other options.

Complete disaster !!! Don’t go to that hospital the amount of management and staff incompetence is unreal!!! Not worth even half star, this is by far worst and honestly WORST hospital experience ever. Avoid anything in that place or you going to loose more than they going to help you. I waited 5 hours for my transport from another hospital left without food and drink for more than 16 hours and nobody even cared to say sorry or take ANY responsibility it’s disgusting and complete garbage 🗑 👊🏻

The worst hospital I have ever been to.. Went to A&E twice. Everyone is so rude! From the receptionist, the nurses and even the bloody doctors. There's a very negative energy in that place. Just a horrible experience and very bad treatment. Had to go to Royal Free to get seen by decent people. Avoid at any cost!!
