Absolutely useless. I rang Elliot Chappel surgery to book in my daughters vaccination that she was due to have. Got told it was at Elliot Chappel surgery, picked my daughter up from school early for it (which she was very upset about!).Got to the surgery 10 minutes early, was waiting for 15 minutes for the receptionist to finally come despite pressing the the bell countless times only to be told that I would have to rebook it as it was at the Newingtons surgery and I was already late, which I could have driven to Newingtons and got there on time if she wasn't so slow. Unhappy with that,I called the Newingtons surgery, explained what had happened, explained that I had brought my daughter out of school so cost her an afternoon off and she was really upset about that, and asked if they could squeeze her in still because of how slow the other receptionist was, which prevented me getting there on time. The receptionist replied back that the bell is very big at Elliot Chappel surgery, and called me a liar saying I couldn't have pressed it! I said back to her that if she looked at CCTV in there, they would clearly see that I was there as long as I said, and pressed the bell plenty of times but if that's how they treat people then I'm changing GP at which she said "very good sir" so hung up and went straight to another local doctors and got some registration forms for me and my family. Cannot recommend them at all with receptionists like this, they need sacking! Sorry for the rant but I thought I should share this experience.

1/ 5

At 3:55 on Thursday 25 of April. I encountered a problem with a receptionist at the Newington surgery, Anlaby Rd in Hull. Because I wanted the times of when I picked my prescription up changing. The doctor changed my prescription, which meant that I couldn't pick them up together. I had to pick a packet of tablets up every two weeks. but I wanted to pick them up once a month, to avoid any confusion. The receptionist had a really bad bedside manner. she told me that she's gonna put on the computer that I couldn't go and ask the doctor, if I could have my prescription put together. I felt like I was banging my head against brick wall, like I needed help but I wasn't getting it. I very clumsy knocked this plastic leaflets slot of the sides, off the counter. I bend down to pick this thing up the that I knocked down. At that point the security guard open the door. And asked me to be careful. At that time, I bent down to pick the thing up I had knocked down by mistake, through clumsiness. I left the Newington practice to go back to the pharmacist to pick up a packet of tablets, a apart of my description up. Then the receptionist came into pharmacist shop telling them all kinds of personal information about me, In front of lots of people at the pharmacist shop, it left me becoming very poorly from anxiety, a bad anxiety attack in front of people. I had to leave my car and just walk back home. The receptionist, is trusted with all our personal information, and shoots her mouth off in a pharmacist in front of other patients. No wonder the surgery only has one star. I have been to that surgery time and time again for help, they have Turn Me Away. When I go into that surgery at Newington Health Centre, I always feel like I'm bullied by the staff, the receptionists there. It's a horrible thing, that patient now, have to struggle to make an appointment to see a doctor, because the receptionists won't let them. I'm sorry I have to burden you with all this information. I think it's necessary for the future of the practice that things change. Otherwise your going to find that more and more patients drop out of the Newington Health Centre

I've been with this Doctors surgery for 37 years and I feel I need to warn Everyone please don't sign up with this joke of a Surgery, I've had 3 separate run ins with a receptionist you'll all know her due to her appalling Attitude!!!! And judging by the other reviews on here it looks like nothing has changed in the past months, I need to go into detail so bare with me, 11 day's ago I had to get an ambulance for my 3 year old son due to a severe Throat/Ear infection, we were told at A+E to give him 5 mils of Antibiotics 4 times a day out of a 100mil bottle , so by day 5 I called to get it sent straight out so he wouldn't miss any...... I was met with such an attitude telling me he shouldn't be due anymore yet as it's says he's been given 125 mils in the bottle..... ABSOLUTE IMBECILE!!! Was looking at the milligrams of Penicillin in every 5 mil dose not the amount of liquid that was in the bottle, then made out I must of been giving him too much!!! If this stupid Woman doesn't know the difference between millilitres and milligrams what the hell is she doing working with drugs?!!! Another run in with her today where she put the phone down on me because i didn't like her attitude, her name is Rachel and I hope by writing this someone official sees this and starts an investigation into this surgery, because next time it could be someone's Cancer Treatment or Heart Medication that she gets wrong Doctor Clarke and Snowdon would be turning in their grave to see such incompetence!!!!
