We had the most perfect stay at New Park Manor for our second wedding anniversary, with a couple of minor gripes.
First the good. The hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of the forest, with beautiful walks right on the door step. The food throughout the stay was amazing with great service, and all of the staff we directly dealt with were great. We also made the most of the spa facility and had a perfect relaxing day which included treatments.
Although we came as a couple, we were incredibly impressed with how the hotel was set out for both couples/adult groups, as well as families.
There are two restaurants, one for families and one for adults only, so if you may have been worried you would be spending your romantic meal with noisy kids, you won't see them at all. The grounds are also great, with little hidden area for couples and families a like.
There was a bit of a mess up with the day that we had organised for the spa (we have no idea if it was our fault or the spa), but it was swiftly rectified, so a huge thank you to the team for that.
The not so good. Although our room was very spacious, it was incredibly dark. The rooms we stayed in was very tall, and so the small bulb in the light high above our heads made no difference at all to the light level. But, as the room was simply to sleep in I cant say it would put me off coming again. If you are expecting a relaxing day at the spa (the treatments include a full day in the spa area), what isn't made clear is that the pool in this area is for the whole hotel, including the kids. Unfortunately this meant it wasn't the relaxing experience we had hoped for, which was a bit of a shame as it wasn't how it was described to us. Also, a personal conversation between staff about shifts was overheard by us, and probably should have been dealt with privately.
Despite the small 'not so goods' we had a lovely stay and would absolutely come back again! The location, staff, food, spa and walks right out of the door make it the perfect hotel to stay in during your stay to the New Forest.
