I was recently sent here by my GP. As soon as I arrived I was given a covid test and then admitted into the assessment unit where I was given some preliminary tests and then examined by a junior doctor. I was sent for an x-ray and then the junior doctor and his senior came to see me with their diagnosis. They were so kind and reassuring and arranged for me to be transferred to the Grange for further treatment. All of the staff who looked after me including porters, nurses, doctors, radiographers etc were wonderful and I am truly grateful for their prompt diagnosis and starting me on the right treatment. THANK YOU ❣️

A disgrace to the health profession. My mother was admitted struggling to breathe with suspected heart failure and/or fluid on the lungs. In the week she has been there, I've had to make dozens of phone calls to just get through to get news of her health. Today I've made 14 calls and not got through ONCE - one call via switchboard I held on for 27 mins. Yesterday was 13 calls, Saturday a record at 16 phone calls; the day before 5 calls. I have been told that she is due to be discharged tomorrow and yet you don't even know what's wrong with her. You've done ONE test in 5 days. No one has ever bothered to pick up the phone to give me news. What I can share with you though, is that if you don't find out what is wrong with her and FIX it you will never get her back into hospital, so in effect you will be directly responsible for her death. And I will hold you fully accountable for any harm caused to her from your neglect and incompetence.

2/ 5

I was taken to the minor injuries unit at Nevill Hall hospital and taken by the excellent ambulance crew to a small room with a trolley, chair and bed table. My problem made it impossible for me to reach my bag which was on the chair. The ambulance crew left their blanket with me as it was cold in the unit. My assigned nurse was completely disinterested in my care. My arms were both bruised from trying to get blood and the medication the doctor prescribed was not given to me until I reminded her about it. I could not see a call bell so had to wait to catch her eye to ask for the commode. I was unable to get from the trolley to the commode so she reluctantly got a bed pan. Her attitude was angry telling me to help myself more as she would hurt her back. I had to remind her several times to put the side up on the trolley as my mobility problem made me fear falling from it. Thankfully I was then moved to a proper bed in a cubicle where the care was much better.
