2/ 5

Me and my partner decided on getting our first thai massage here after reading the good reviews. However when we got there we were taken to separate rooms, even though my understanding of thai massage was that you could have a couples experience. Me and my partner found the experience not very relaxing and a lot more painful than we were expecting. My partner had a much rougher time of it and told the girl repeatedly that he was in pain and was groaning at times in pain and her response was "okay" and carried on with the same intensity. Now I have friends that live and practice thai massage in Thailand and they reassure me that it should never hurt and they should be gently and ask how much pressure they are allowed to give you and you can always ask them to adjust the pressure if you want. At the end of the session we were told to soak in a hot bath when in fact i should be a cold bath when you need muscles to recover. Over the evening time my partner ended up in such pain because of his back that he had to take painkillers and lie on the floor. The following day he is still unable to walk very far without being in pain. No massage should ever to that to a person. Will not be going back.
