In 1860, Ivy Terrace was built for £140, on part of a field belonging to Borth Farm. The land was owned by Baron Harlech who leased it for 60 years.In 1911, Baron Harlech sold the house to John Robert Owen, who leased it to David Jones and then sold it to him in 1928. The house remained in the same family until 1945.From 1946 to 1980, Mr and Mrs Tipps, who also owned 3 Ivy terrace, ran what was known as the “Igloo Café”
