I visited Mina Hair and beauty in Byres road for Colour and haircut with Blow dry. The lady was very polite on the phone and booked me in a convenient time. However, my experience in the salon was not pleasant. First of all, I felt quite awkward as the ladies were not speaking English to each other, even when they were talking about me, which I found quite rude, especially when they were making eye contact with me speaking a language I could not understand and having my hair in their hands. Secondly, the place was not clean, I could see the dust flying around whenever someone was using the hairdryer and the towels used were also discoloured from the colours previously used. Last but not least, I ended up paying far more than I had expected. In their website and the flyer it is stated that they have a student discount without any small prints or T&C's but when I was ready to show my ID card, I was told that the discount is not valid on Fridays and Saturdays which is not stated anywhere! Besides that, even the prices in their website and the flyer start with a 'from', so you never know how much you will end up paying and how this is calculated. The haircut is nice though which is the only reason I'm giving them 2 starts and not 1, but there are more places which offer the same services in this price and they are far more clean with more polite stuff and better communication.

Went in for semi perm eyelashes which I've had for years at other salons but decided to try somewhere new. Immediately thought it was weird that she didn't use tape but I assumed this was just a different way of doing things. Before she began she told me not to close my eyes and to leave them half open (also strange as you are always told to close your eyes ). As she began I could feel my eyes starting to burn as glue went in them, I told her to stop after a while as the pain was to much but eventually let her carry on as I didn't want half my eyes done. Then she glued some of my bottom lashes to the top and tried to yank it loose with tweezers, absolute joke, I now am missing some some bottom lashes and the clumps of glue at the top is very visable. Eyes have been irritated since, she's definitely not trained, would not go back.

Got a cut off the guy with a man bun. One of the worst haircuts I’ve ever had. Cut most of my fringe off and completely rushed it and ruined it. Terrible
