Grand old hotel. Lovely staff . The room was comfortable if a bit dated. Lift wasn't working while we were there but these things happen in old buildings I guess. Right next to the train station. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea with delicious sandwiches, cakes, scones and jam with presence and tea in China cups. In the beautiful hotel bar with a stunning Christmas tea in the historic lobby of the hotel. Recommended.

Lovely hotel. Really clean. Spacious public areas. Excellent staff, nothing was too much trouble and all done with a smile. Food was good. Rooms well appointed with all amenities available. The shower was amazing. There was water pressure! The only downside for me was the afternoon tea. I would have liked there to be more sandwiches than cake. And butter rather than margarine for the scones even if it was butter pats in a dish.
