I’ve done both the history and ghost underground vaults tour. I came with a couple of friends to the history tour, which was so interesting I bought my family and girlfriend back and tried the Ghost tour. On both occasions the tour guides were excellent (Mary-Anne I think, and Claudia), informative and told the stories in an engaging manner. Pricing is reasonable for what it is. I’d say on reflection the history tour was better, but I’m sure it’s down to personal opinion.

We went on the Hidden & Haunted Tour, with Scott, who was a brilliant tour guide! He told us the history and the ghostly side of everything with such a passion! The vaults were amazing, what a wonderful discovery! The historical side was fascinating, and the spiritual side- amazing too! In one of the vault's rooms, I felt a strong push against my back, upper right hand side. I turned around thinking it was another tour member accidentally knocking me, but there was nobody... *earthly* there shall we say... In another room, I felt a cold feeling, and a feeling of coldness down my leg, below the knee and to my foot... shortly after feeling this and brushing this feeling off... Scott then began to explain how the spirit of a cobbler resided in that room, and he liked to examine the shoes of tour members... at the end of the tour a fellow tour member had noticed the heel of her shoe had totally come away! An amazing experience overall, some grizzly facts learned as well as general history. Absolutely go on this tour if you're in Edinburgh, Mercat tours were great. Thanks Scott!

Brilliant tour which was ran by Scott who was very knowledgeable and a fantastic addition to the Mercat team, also the lady in the office was so helpful in sorting out our tickets and was truly a privilege to meet a company with such lovely staff. The tour was also great and gave you so much knowledge about Edinburgh at the same time as telling a story. Would recommend them 10/10 no faults at all ☺️😁

Amazing!! My partner and I decided to take the Hidden and Haunted tour of the Blair Street Vaults with the amazing Steve. Steve is a legend, pure and simple...he's been doing it for decades and it shows. Amazing time...the only downfall was the other guests on the tour to be honest...being so knowledgeable, Steve deserved more respect from a particular group on the tour...talking amongst themselves etc... Regardless, this was not Steve or the company's fault at all and we had an amazing time!

Brilliant ghost walk. I've been to a few ghost walks and I can honestly say this was by far the best one yet. Loads of scary stories told along the walk and the underground part was brilliant.
