I have almost had it with this surgery because of the lack of patients rights to have a caring professional doctor. At present my doctor(Homer) does not believe in past serious illnesses I.e. Lyme disease + her word is law! I have had medication denied for 4 days because said doctor was on holiday. I’m seriously considering leaving or trying to see another doctor. Overall disgrace-whatever happened to non necare!

This practice isn't very helpful, as they don't try to help you when booking an appointment is always 2 weeks after when you call and they have no walk in hours. The reception staff doesn't ask why you want to see a doctor in order to evaluate is it's the case of getting you an appointment soon or if you can wait. I am shocked by how not helpful it's been having a doctor here and I just always prefer to take a flight to go home and get properly checked by competent staff. I will change GP asap.

So far my experience here has been very good, it seems that the GPs here genuinely care about how you are doing and make an effort to check in with you. Dr. Armstrong has been of particular help to me and I recommend her.

I've been with this practice a few years now after having awful GP's elsewhere. I only see Dr Homer as I really think seeing the same person is key. I can't fault her, the reviews below just don't seem right. I've found this practice to be great, from receptionist through to the Dr. Plus the pharmacy is directly opposite and they too are great.

Firstly, a shout-out to my doctor - doctor McGuinn; who has been doing everything she can go try and help me. I sense her sincerity and true desire to help every time I speak to her, and so I fully trust this doctor. As for the receptionists: I feel they are getting a bit of a hard time on here. Whilst they have always been nice and helpful with me, I would understand and accept that sometimes their job is stressful, especially during these times and wouldn't take it personally when they are having a difficult day... We're all human and in complete disarray with today's problems.

They only take four patients a day , so unless you are there at 7am forget it. Due to my condition I'm unable to do this. No empathy shown at all by staff

I decided to share something personal and stand up for myself, I also believe that people should be informed about this kind of behavior and hopefully, slowly, this kind of practice can be ended. About the same time last year I was struggling a lot with mental health and suicidal thoughts. I found the courage to finally get some help and so I went to Meadows Medical Practice. It was a walk of twenty minutes in the winter time, which felt like a long 3 hour walk. When I got to the practice, I immediately addressed the receptionist with the fact that I was having suicidal thoughts and I needed help now. She corrected me by saying that I should 'book' an appointment, and not 'register' for one. I had to go back home and then come back for my time with the doctor. When I did, I told the same fact about suicidal thoughts to the doctor and she basically told me to wait for a letter, and also made fun of me for not being able to put my thoughts into a sentence. I am very good at English, even though I am not a native speaker. But when a person struggles with mental health and is having high anxiety and depression it is only natural that it would be hard for them to speak up. I do not want this to get too long so I am just going to go ahead and finish up my monologue with a few key sentences. Mental health should not be laughed about. It should not be dismissed. People who are dealing with any kind of mental illness and or suicide are worthy of respect and are in need of your help so please do not disregard them. Please value life. Please share and spread awareness.

As is quite normal now in times of Covid, hospitals have to discharge patients as quickly as possible. I had surgery on 16 June and was discharged on 17 June. The hospital staff were amazing. They all deserve medals. On being discharged I was advised had to have my dressings changed every 3 days. On phoning the surgery the Receptionist (Anne) advised me that one of their nurses was sick amd the other was unavailable on the day I was to have the dressing changed. Anne said she would try and have something arranged. She called me several times and later that day called me again and told me she managed to get a District Nurse to make a home visit, not just for the first visit but for each successive visit. I am most grateful as Anne most certainly went the extra mile as even if I had been given an appointment I would have had difficulty as the surgery was on my foot and at present I have extremely limited mobility. THANK YOU ANNE AND MEADOWS MEDICAL PRACTICE. I SHOULD ADD MY EXPERIENCE OF ALL THE RECEPTIONISTS HAS ALWAYS BEEN PEOPLE WHO CARE ABD ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL.
