Huge Central Library in Manchester. The centre gallery is a great place for peace to do some work. There are all kinds of resources available to you here including local maps, history, newspaper archives and musical scores and instruments. Its worth a visit as a tourist too as the building itself is embedded into the history of Manchester.

Manchester Central Library is the headquarters of the city's library and information service in Manchester, England. Facing St Peter's Square, it was designed by E. Vincent Harris and constructed between 1930 and 1934. The form of the building, a columned portico attached to a rotunda domed structure, is loosely derived from the Pantheon, Rome. At its opening, one critic wrote, "This is the sort of thing which persuades one to believe in the perennial applicability of the Classical canon".

One of My favourite library in the world. It’s beautiful building outside and inside. Many kind of book and interesting things you can find. You can just spend all day here. I really like this library. Also if you are looking for printer, that’s here. There are printers you can use them with just few pennies.

Gorgeous library with lots of space to revise in peace, including the silent room where you could literally hear a pin drop! Visited a mint exhibition here at the start of the year based on Manchester bands and amazing photography.

Beautiful building with the atmosphere of a train station. A nightmare for those who are looking for a quiet space to work. Due to management policy, staff don't ask people to be quiet, even in the supposedly quiet reading room which is very echo-y. Staff are friendly but there isn't enough of them. Quiet study carrels are only open to students and not to members of the public who pay council tax. It's lovely that the library is open to people from all walks of life. Non quiet spaces in libraries are needed. But the existing policy closes doors to people who need the quiet. A wasted opportunity for creating a welcoming space for all. Coffee is more expensive than in trendy cafes but they have nice stencils.

I pop in here quite frequently. It's a fantastic building, both inside and out. There are usually one or more interesting exhibitions, which often change. And the permanent Archives area is always worth spending a few minutes in. There is a cafe and of course thousands and thousands of books. Staff are very helpful too.

Very classic and comfortable place to study in peace and read something or work. Fortunately people are all respectful here and the atmosphere is nice. The old classic building is stunning and inside as well. The opening hours are reasonable instead of other useless public libraries.

Nice space to be in, with interactive displays and a nice little cafe to get a snack from. They have private booths and all staff that I talked to were friendly and helpful. Will go again.
