Delicious and cosy place that offers wide variety of snacks and bites not only to tourists ;) The coffee is full with taste and aroma, the quiche is amazing and the desserts need to be tasted! You won't regret stopping by and whatever you pick- it will be a hit!

Loved this placed, I have been going here since it opened. But today I bought bread that once you got by the flour-covered crust was burnt. I am afraid it was awful. A long way short of the normal high standards. I'm now away and can't find an email address to feedback any other way, so hoping this reaches the owners and it can be fixed for my next visit after Easter. UPDATE - Thanks, but this was Hills Road, not Newnham.

After driving past this bakery on my morning commute, I always wondered why there was a queue outside it. After visiting them, I can understand why there is a queue... Their cakes, patisserie items and bread and lovely. The only downside is that they are a bit pricier than Gregg's and you probably can't get a sausage roll, but you get what you pay for! The passion fruit tarts are heavenly. My other criticism is that their takeaway coffee cups suck because the lids don't seal properly. They sit fine on the cup but leak around the edges. On every occasion I have ordered coffee and had it leak. Time for me to get a reusable cup instead! In summary, this is a really nice bakery. You pay Cambridge prices, but the food is great.

My trip to Maison Clement (Hills Road) this morning reminded me why I stopped going to this little place. They have a very high staff turnover, this means that service is unfortunately inconsistent. Staff aren't trained properly before they put them to make coffees which results in suboptimal coffee (there are only 1 or 2 competent staff) - it's a shame because their coffee beans are really quite good. I know their space inside is small, but they basically kick you out once you place an order for coffee as you need to wait outside for it.

A friendly neighbourhood bakery with French bakers and serving hot coffee. Expect a queue at this popular venue. Had a tasty pain au chocolat and a decent latte. Interested to try the bread

The sausage in the sausage roll was bland but the pastry around it was delicious and it did look a bit rough, I’ll call it ‘artisan’. It was surpassed by the baguette which was excellent, and by the friendly staff. I’ll be back to give the coffee and something sweet a try.
