Fridge was hidden away in a cupboard. No kitchen or cooking appliances. Small Room. Everything was old and outdated. Paint peeled off everywhere. Furniture was stained. Random orange stain on bed. Cupboard doors were broken. Exhaust fan in bathroom didn't work nor did the majority of the lights. Faulty light about bed, was switched off but would still flicker. Found Mould throughout. Toilet leaked all over the floor. Tiles were cracked and chipped. Paper thin walls could hear everything. Electrical socket was half hanging off the wall. Cracks in the roof and wall had separated apart 4cm. No phone in room and no room service. Elevators are sketchy. Washing & dryer cost money to use. 150m walk for parking for an extra $15 a night. Definitely wasn't the Executive King Suite I thought it would be. 10/10 wouldn't recommend.

Worst Hotel I have had the misfortune staying in. Very rude receptionist staff and unfriendly housekeepers. Someone booked the hotel on my behalf. Checking in was a nightmare. I arrived to the hotel around 12 am and was rudely informed that I could not check in until 2pm. Even when I explained I was from out of town and needed to drop my bags in the room before going for my appointment, I was not offered an early check in nor was I checked into my room at the 2pm time. I finally checked in at 2:20pm. On check in, I was not given any notice regarding check out time. The room was horrible. Had a faint smell. Room service never came to clean up after the first night. On the day I was to leave someone came around to the room around 11:29am and asked me if I was staying another day and I replied No. They then informed me that check out time was 11am and then I told them to give me 30 minutes to pack up, but they kept knocking on the door and called on the phone again to harass me and were extremely rude. When I got to the counter downstairs 10 minutes later, despite having CCTV and a staff being at the downstairs office they kept me waiting in the lobby, until I banged the counter to get their attention and then the young blonde lady that came over was quite dismissive and rude and would not even hear me out. She took the room card and slammed the office door behind her. Very very outrageous service. Needless to say, I am never staying in the Madison Plaza Hotel anytime I am in Townsville in the future. What a horrible experience!

Great location in the city , near enough to walk to castle hill. Rooms were pretty clean. My only complaint is that the elevators are super loud and kept us up at night.
