I would recommend you avoid the service department at all costs. My experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth. My car was in for a small piece of work. While there, they carried out a vehicle health check, without my permission, after which my bonnet latch no longer worked. It took some time to get them to engage with me on this (and only after I’d emailed digitalcustomerexperience@verrtumotors who are based outwith the Glasgow office). They agreed to look into the issue but, if they found no fault on their part, they would charge me an investigation fee of £95. This was waived after I objected to it. Their investigation subsequently found no fault on their part and it would cost £170 to have the latch replaced. I opted not to proceed at that cost. They were able to reduce the price to £145 but again I declined (the cost to them of the part required was around £60 including VAT). I subsequently received a call explaining that they had removed the latch to investigate the issue and that my bonnet was not secure and could open while driving. Their solution was to use cable ties to tie my bonnet down. Fortunately, they found another solution which involved using the broken latch to lock the bonnet shut. This made it more difficult for someone else to replace but at least it was better than cable ties. In amongst all of this, I was quoted £130 to supply and fit a rear drop link on my car. This cost me £45 to have done elsewhere. I really hope I have no cause to use this service again.
