When going for my 8 week old's immunisation... Firstly, the doctor was 25 minutes late with no estimated waiting time or an apology for the wait. Secondly, I asked if I could hold her while he does them but stated I had to lay her down on the bed? This is a first I've heard of this? How insensitive is it to have the baby experience pain in a strange place and think their parent has put them down and left them? with the 3 injects needed for the immunisation, the doctor decided it would be best to do them one at a time, letting her calm down after 5 mins then doing another one setting her off crying again? It is a ridiculous method and with my previous 2 children, this was not done and not as painfully long for them. And thirdly, when given the mouth drops, this doctor was in such a rush for his next patient since he was already running late that he did not wait for her to stop screaming and for me to sit her up which resulted in her breathing some in and in turn choking on it for some time. And again, no apology for that either, upon leaving the doctors I realised that he did not place any plaster on any of the injection sites as you would expect. Expect a formal and written complaint from me very soon.
