Awesome little retreat with a variety of different baths. It was a little smaller than previous places we had been but the caves were just beautiful and the Aromatherapy was a lovely touch. Very decent prices

Unfortunately my relaxation massage and visit to the day spa was a little underwhelming whilst on holidays recently. I did email the spa via their contact form on the website to resolve my experience, but never received a reply over a week ago now. First things first, my first impression walking up to the main reception area was not great. Its a home converted into a day spa with other consulting rooms attached to the right. There is no LUXE feeling upon entering. The reception staff member was lovely, put her mask on when I entered. Asked me to complete a form on an ipad where like most other spas, you enter details, pressure or sore points and medical history. I felt that this was not looked at by my therapist prior to taking my massage given my end result. I was led to a waiting area with nice music, no offering from staff for tea or water. Unfortunately the carpet was not clean and left my mind wondering what the room was going to look and feel like. The room itself for the massage was outdated. It was a dual room so for a single massage, it was big and stark. The massage table had you looking at the bottom of a dirty floor with no essential oils to smell as part of the treatment or anything to look at to get you into a relaxing mode to look at. My therapist, did not ask what pressure I liked prior to commencing, so I found it way too soft. I also felt uncomfortable to request during the massage for it to be firmer, so it really was disappointing. It lacked the rhythm and technique, I have come to expect from regular day spa trips across Victoria. The 1hr massage did not mean that I was massaged for an hour. More like 45 minutes. The worst part of the massage was that cold oil was applied to my body without warming it up. While it may be refreshing, a relaxing massage should not have you flinching when it is applied in my opinion. Was the therapist nice and friendly when she spoke, yes. But she did not consult with me at all prior to the massage apart from asking me to get undressed and lay face down on the table. Even a simple - what pressure do you like? do you have any areas of concern? may have assisted in my overall satisfaction of the treatment. Upon completion of the massage the oil was not rubbed off on areas of my body leaving oil stains on my clothes. Most therapists have a way of rubbing off the oil in a smooth and harmonious way, This was not that at all. A quick wipe and scrunch of the towel. Never ever have I experienced this. My sister in law visited the spa the next day, despite my experience for a facial and massage as she had already booked. She left so disappointed as well. I don't normally write lengthy reviews, however two bad experiences in a space of 24 hours, calls for an honest review and explanation.
