I visited the pharmacy two weeks ago with my 80 year old mother. Stephen was very professional and so caring with her. I really appreciated the fact that he took his time to patiently explain to her how to take her new medication. Bless him. Catriona MacKay

3/ 5

Summary: A small, uninspiring local chemist that thinks it's still 1981 This chemist receives custom largely because it's the only one in the area, not because it's shining example to all Edinburgh chemists. It's a neat, clean little shop selling exactly what you expect, and has helpful, friendly staff. However, the shop's managers seem to think it's actually 1981: this chemist closes for lunch. Yup, you read that right, it closes for lunch. It's the only shop of its type in Edinburgh that I've ever encountered that does this. And it's annoying. Especially when you pop by in the pouring rain only to discover it's closed for another 45 minutes as the staff watch you from within. Still, when the place is open, it does the job well enough. Note that if you're not local, the parking beside the shop is rather poor, so it's not the easiest chemist to reach in a pinch.
