Dirty Business – stay clear!
As a customer with the dealership for the last 4+ years, having purchased a new RX450 on order, it is disappointing that the standards are below the Lexus brand strives to achieve. Deja vu to the service last year, the car was received in a much more dirty condition with black oily finger marks on the pristine beige leather interiors. The principal for the dealership did intervene last year and addressed the issues; however, each time the customer should not be expected to escalate for such trivial issues. The recommended air conditioning service (although I did approve the charge) made an iota of difference to the performance of the AC. It appeared to be routine rather than an informed recommendation probably aimed at increasing revenue for the dealership rather than a genuine need. Minor issues like wipers changed last year have remained screechy since day one and cheaply fitted at a premium price. It is embarrassing to have work colleagues in the car when the wipers start in case of rain, a cheap fiat Uno does that better!
To be fair, the wheel alignment (although more expensive than the local garage) made a noticeable difference to the driving. The staff engagement was clearly transactional at the time of booking and requesting a courtesy car a month in advance seemed obligatory. For a service which is about £700-800 the standards of professionalism and curtsey were not met.
Whilst I am absolutely delighted with the car, Twickenham dealership and staff engagement has left me disappointed.
