I was booked in this salon for wash and blow dry, as I was attending a wedding, so I wanted to treat myself. I messaged them, as I enquired about the 25% discount for new clients as advertised on their Instagram page and was told it has expired, which I accepted. I have never felt so uncomfortable and out of place and unwelcome. I turned up 5 minutes early, not greeted at all and was told by the hairdresser that she is running 30 minutes behind, as the client she was with requested extra procedures, which meant she needed more time. She then told me that her colleague would be available in 15 minutes to do my wash and blow dry. I did mention that at time of my booking I was interested in a hair cut and I was reassured that would not be an issue on the day. She told me that won’t be possible and there was time for wash and blow dry only. I agreed to wait, however I changed my mind and explained I could use the half an hour to get ready and come back for my hair. She asked me that if I would be back on time as she had a client with colour that she could no way leave and on my return I will be offered a wash and blow dry only. I mentioned to her that I was the one who was early for my appointment. As I walked away and sat in my car and I noticed she was moaning to the other client about me, rolling her eyes etc. So unprofessional, and unnecessary. I felt my ethnicity triggered a response in her attitude. This felt backward and I felt out of place, a disappointing experience for a multi cultural city like London. I went home and I decided not to return. I intended to support local business and was met with hostility. I had to do my own hair which was an inconvenience for me. I am so glad I didn’t spend my money here.
