After being up for 36 hours we showed up from our flight 6 hours early. We asked to be put in the list for first check in. It did not happen. They told us 3 PM is the check in time. We told them we understood but if there was anyway possible to let us in once a room was clean it would be greatly appreciated. We would check every hour. The front desk person would act like they have never seen us before,, every hour we would check. We were able to check in at 3pm, with the other 8 couples that were waiting. I am sorry but there was no reason they could not have let us in or some of the other couples waiting. Check in process is way to long. 1st night was good, but keys did not work. Had to go downstairs and wait in line for 30 minutes to get keys redone. Called on the 2nd day to confirm check out time, can’t even get them to answer the phone. Nice hotel but service is poor.

On arrival at 09:00 on Tuesday morning we were greeted with bad manner’s. The travel agent I had made the booking through requested an early check-in 6 weeks previous. I had also made a phone call the night before to clarify same. I was told it should be no problem as the hotel was not full the night before. We had been awake from 04:00 to travel to Edinburgh. The early check-in was declined. I was not given any over view of the hotel or city only told to sign a piece of paper On arrival. No friendly greeting like the businessmen/women got.Not even an “enjoy your stay”. The 3 ladies on reception that morning were spending more time talking about the manager “being in a bad mood”. In my opinion, completely unprofessional. We came back to the hotel at 13:15 to see if our room was ready. Again it was declined and we were told “3PM check in.” Other people checking in at that time were getting their room’s. I asked why we our room was still not ready and I was laughed at by 2 of the ladies and told “3PM check in”. The 3rd lady at reception got involved and all 3 at this stage laughed at my face. To say I became upset and infuriated at such behaviour is an understatement. From a 4 star hotel? If it was a 2 star hotel I would not be complaining but bad manner’s by any profession is inexcusable. At 13:45 our room magically became available and we got no apology just the keys and a brief over view which was the first bit of manner’s we got..and only. The room was not cleaned after the first night(it was a 2 night stay). We paid €155 for it. Again if we paid less money and in a less star hotel we would expect it but this was not the case. On check-out we made them aware our stay we were less than impressed with the manner’s shown and it was not acknowledged. I see my boyfriend’s review has since been deleted. Maybe 4 star hotel’s in Ireland are of higher standard but as for the manner’s..they come with any job and person. Less than impressed on our stay for a short city break. I have since advised friend’s who are travelling to the Christmas market’s in Edinburgh to avoid this hotel.

Good location and good breakfast. Unfortunately the housekeeping was appalling. We stayed 3 nights and each day we had to request toilet paper and toiletries. The beds were made each day but no other cleaning performed including floors and cups. The sheets don’t cover the beds properly. Soap and toiletries had to be requested daily. Coffee capsules, tissues and sugars also had to be requested daily. We just put up with dirty glassware and cleaned it ourselves. We have stayed here before but probably won’t again.

Paying £170 for a night for a double room we were expecting it to be nice! First room we went in smelled awful and there was a floater in the toilet and the bathroom had not been cleaned! We complained and got given a different room. Bath tub was unusable so I took it upon my self to clean it myself rather than be difficult and move again. Bathroom door was broken. We had the view of the construction site in front of the hotel. Location is good because it’s quite central but felt like a cheap dorm rather than a 4 start hotel! Breakfast was good though only saving grace.

The room was amazing, never underestimate how big a king size bed is! Staff were very friendly and helpful, every member of staff was wearing a face mask and had some free for guest use too. Breakfast selection was very varied, couldn't recommend higher!!! Worth every penny

Amazing. The hotel was spotless, the staff were all so friendly and happy to help no matter what and the location was perfect for getting into Edinburgh. I would happily stay again. I'd like to especially thank the cleaning staff too who always said hello and had a smile. They really made us feel welcome

Myself and my partner only stayed 1 night, however we were more than pleased with our service! i was greeted by a lovely gentleman at reception I feel terrible for not taking his name but a very bubbly upbeat man with impressive mannerisms and a laid back atmosphere his humming and singing had us smiling, quite tall and short hair I’m sure this description will instantly have him picked out! he knew of someone in my company and was impressed with my phonetic alphabet knowledge so was easy to have a laugh with! He also arranged for a birthday card to be sent to the room for my partner which was appreciated!! he is an asset to the hotel but I’m sure management already know this!! Room was great, clean and comfy! Couldn’t fault the facility’s or the location! but once again big appreciation for the gentleman at reception Thankyou for the fantastic experience I hope this feedback gets brought to your attention!

Very clean room will all mod cons, Coffee machine, kettle and iron all in room as well as large comfy bed and large flat screen TV, Hotel has only just come out of lock down so some things were still absent such as the breakfast and daily room servicing(this was available on request), it was a bit difficult to get clean towels had to collar the cleaner while passing in corridors, However I can’t grumble about my time here had everything I needed and was clean and tidy, Hotel car park is very cramped as available to everyone rather than exclusively hotel guests, so have a plan B if you can’t find anywhere to park!
