Our two sons have been attending this Kumon centre since they were Year 1&2, and their confidence towards academic ability is more than we can wish for. Boys now (after many years doing Kumon) understand the power of this methodology, and we appreciate Julia's professional attitude and enthusiasm as pupils and parents. Thank you, Julia!!

Our son attended Kumon maths classes with Julia from ages 6 to 11. The methodology of the teaching meant he gained in confidence and his mental maths (including his times tables) improved dramatically. He was often asked to explain to the rest of his class at school, his approach to maths problem solving, which continued into secondary school, using the methods he had learnt from Kumon. The excellent way in which Julia runs this centre made all the difference. Her individual character and personality, enthusiasm and engagement with both the pupils and parents, create a great learning environment. We have no hesitation in highly recommending this Kumon centre, and Julia, as being of real benefit. Maths was not our son’s strongest subject, however he managed to achieve a good grade at GCSE, and we firmly believe that the foundations he learnt from attending Kumon played a big part in his success.

The people are lovely, the programme is very effective and the centre is easy to get to. Julia, the centre manager, is very kind and helpful as are the rest of the Kumon team. They help make sure that both the parents and the students fully understand how the programme works. The centre has free parking outside and is right by The Long Man of Wilmington stop in the 5b bus route. I started as a Kumon Mathematics student in year 3 as my teachers had identified me as behind in mathematics and I stayed with the centre for 8 years as it continued to help me with my concentration, work ethic and, of course, mathematical ability. I have now completed my GCSEs with A*s in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Religous Studies and English Language.

I attended Kumon from around primary school years 2/3 until year 6. I did the maths program and although I didn't complete it I can honestly say that Kumon gave me a really good foundation level of maths which came in very useful during all 5 years of secondary school and GCSE. I found that certain topics were simply 'clearer' and I could grasp them much more easily than other students who didn't have any knowledge of the topics. Kumon works to introduce children to everything they will need to achieve a good grade at GCSE level, the assistants were all very helpful in getting you to understand and generally guiding you in the right direction. Julia was always so kind and accommodating and was always ready to aid me in understanding and mastering techniques and without her and the staff I definitely would have not been able to achieve a good result at GCSE. I still use techniques learned at kumon today, as a lot of the work has practical, real world applications. Some skills are even useful in subjects outside of maths, like calculations in physics, or statistics in psychology. I'm very thankful for my time at Kumon, and all the skills it taught me, as they provided me a very beneficial starting point for both exam-level and practical mathematics.

Julia has an incredible way of making each of our two boys, who lack a lot of confidence in maths, feel special and unique. Julia's warm and humourous approach has certainly made their understanding of Kumon more enjoyable. Only after 8 weeks, both the boys' confidence has increased and I can see so much potential for them to thrive and excel. Julia is super approachable, and has an infectious way of teaching, this method is something I would have loved when I was my children's age, as I really loath(ed) maths!

My son's being going here for nearly 3 years, since he was 9. His maths was always good, but he steadily strengthened it and is light years above what school is teaching him.
