I've only had a good experience with the doctors here, especially Dr Kennedy as he seems to have a wealth of knowledge. He was able to identify a sinus issue that previous surgeries hadn't, and also referred me to an ENT specialist to address my breathing issues after a broken nose. I had since had my appointment and will be undergoing surgery under the NHS, which I'm looking forward to as I'll be able to breathe again. Highly recommend.

If you are new to the area do not join this surgery. The reception staff are friendly but the doctors are very dismissive and unhelpful, have left me feeling completely miserable for months on end.

I have been a patient with Dr Kennedy from his Hyndland Street days and followed them up to the new practice on Byres Road. On my occasions of using the surgery I have found all the staff both medical and front of house to be very polite, professional and nothing is a bother. They run a drop in through the week that will guarantee you an appointment if you come along and wait. And in this day in age to be guranteed to see a Dr on the same day is a luxury. Would have no hesitations in reccomending this surgery at all.

My experience of Ashton has been less than sub-par. It's difficult to book an appointment seeing as they will just recommend that you go to one of the drop in sessions. This is because the drop in sessions take up the vast majority of the day so there isn't much room for actual appointments. Admittedly, it is handy being able to guarantee you see a doctor on the day, however I have had to wait up to 1.5 hours to see someone. In addition, not being able to book in advance means you see a different doctor almost every time you go so if you are experiencing a long term problem then you have to explain everything over and over again. Most of the doctors I've encountered are so exhausted by seeing so many people through the drop in and preoccupied by getting through the queue of patients, that they barely give you time to communicate your problems before prescribing pills or telling you it's nothing to worry about. I had recurring issues with abdominal pain and reflux, accompanied by anxiety as a result of having no idea what was wrong. I was continually told that I was just stressed and that there didn't seem to be anything wrong. Eventually I saw a doctor who took me seriously and referred me to an expert. Turns out I have gallstones and a hiatus hernia - which should explain my symptoms. Not much meditation and relaxing breathing exercises can do to get rid of stones in your gallbladder! I was taken a little more seriously after these diagnoses, however it shouldn't take that to be respected by your GP. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going to this practice.

I came here as a new patient. I attended a drop in surgery and waited two and a half hours to be seen (other people who came in after me were taken before me)eventually by a very young inexperienced doctor who had minor skills in bereavement. ..her only remedy was to have coucilling! Poor standards of care and support. .worst I have ever come across. ...shocking! Won't be back. ...

Tried to book an appointment for months and never managed to speak to anyone. Line constantly busy and the rare times they picked up my call they put me on hold to then hung up. They have far too many patients and not enough staff. A better booking system would really help.

Recently had to leave this practice after a bad experience with Dr Kennedy. I was not feeling that my anti - depressants were having any affect on my after being on them for a year so asked how I would go about coming off them. Instead of asking questions, he made multiple assumptions that I was feeling a lot better and it was difficult to convey to him that that wasn't the case. He tried to encourage me to stay on the medication by saying things like 'I have a lot of students who are happy on their medication' and 'do you know, no one has ever completed suicide under my care?'. Eventually he explained how to come off them week by week. I asked if he could write this down as I have dyspraxia and struggle with verbal instructions. He replied... 'you're a clever girl, you'll be fine'. I complained about this and received an equally condescending email that was mostly excuses and blame shifting and that conveniently didn't awknowledge this misogynist comment.

Lovely staff and doctors, but the amount of times I have to call to get an appointment is ridiculous. I once had to try 103 times before the line was finally unbusy and someone picked up. I think the GP needs a better booking system as this is how some patients can fall through the cracks
