I have been in business for over 40 years. During this time, I have dealt with numerous accountancy firms, from one man to the giants. I don’t normally get involved in reviews, but, on this occasion, I am compelled to. I spent hours and getting ever more frustrated at trying to provide tax returns requested by Barclays. In desperation, I called Karim to see if he could help. In his usual calm and ultra-professional manner – lead me through the not so friendly HMRC website and found the information. Even though some of these returns pre-date Karim’s involvement he did not ask if I had an appointment, sent me a pro-forma invoice or even mentioned charging for his assistance – he was just happy to help. By contrast, I deal with many solicitors who will not even talk to me unless I pay money upfront. This is good old-fashioned service which is rare and must be appreciated and supported. I do not recommend this accounting company for any business related issues. After several months of poor communication, I expressed my frustration to a senior associate who then tried to shame me for the very issues that they were supposed to providing a service for. I have the impression that they do not care about small business accounts. I was misled--- in my experience, Johnsons Chartered Accountants only care and communicate with clients before they collect their fee. I have had a better experience with the personal tax branch (Manish, to be specific) of the company, but if I could start over, I would not engage them at all. I do not think it's worth it to hire this business at all.
